Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the WeatherTech HP Front Auto Floor Mats in a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

Hello neighbor, this is Curt at etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the WeatherTech HP custom floor mats for our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Now these WeatherTech mats are going to be a custom-fit replacement for your factory floor mats. They are designed in a way with this high wall to protect any spillage from going over onto your factory carpet.

The grooves are intended for any of the debris or water that falling off of your shoes or your boots to be channeled. And actually, once they're off, kind of stay off the bottom of your shoes as well. They're heavy duty and flexible, so they should be pretty easy to install and remove when you need to clean them or vacuum out the vehicle. And it's got some pretty solid anchor points as well that attach pretty nicely to the factory anchors. The bottom is textured to avoid any kind of slipping around under your feet.

So these mats will stay in place very nicely. And they're also designed to fit perfectly with the contours inside of the vehicle. Not only that, but they're gonna provide a lot more coverage than your factory floor mat. So as we could see here on the driver's side, we're gonna get that high wall coverage, so it's not gonna slip over anything. It's even high walled in the back underneath the seat.

So you're gonna get some extra coverage there that you don't get out of the factory mats. We're also gonna cover the dead pedal over here as well as underneath the brake and gas pedal. So overall, you're gonna get a lot more coverage out of these WeatherTech floor mats than you do the factory. Plus being a waterproof design, it's really gonna do a great job of protecting that factory carpet. Now let's see how these are gonna fit into our driver's side.

I mentioned before the flexibility that's gonna make these pretty easy to install and uninstall when necessary. We're gonna guide the front of it right up under the pedals there and get our anchor points lined up before we pop them down. (floor mat pops) Okay, so as you could see, we've got a good flush coverage here right under the seat. And it's at that high lip design to keep any dirt, debris, and moisture off of our carpet. That high wall design is gonna go all the way around the mat, and we get that good dead pedal coverage along with good coverage underneath the gas and brake pedal. And all of this is going to channel any moisture or water into this deeper area here. And really the idea is once that is off of your boots and shoes, it's gonna be able to stay off of your boots and shoes because of these deeper channels. Now let's take a look at the passenger side. Now the passenger side is designed in a similar way to the driver's side in that it has these deep cut channels and this kind of area here to pool any of the moisture that comes down. It's gonna have that high wall design to protect the sides of the carpet as well as coming up a little bit higher for your passenger's feet. And to compare it to the coverage that we're gonna get from the factory floor mats, you get just a little bit more coverage on the feet, much more coverage up along the walls here, and it's also gonna go further underneath the seat as well. Now let's take a look and see how these fit inside the vehicle. So as we fit these in, this does a pretty good job of following all of the contours here. We're gonna go ahead and push in our anchor points here. (floor mat pops) And as you can see, we're getting a bit more coverage on this factory carpet than we did with the factory once again. So nice high coverage up here underneath the glove box. Good coverage to have your feet bumping into the carpet here and here as well on the sides of your shoes, so you're not getting anything on that carpet. Now, overall, I think this is a great, sturdy, heavy-duty, durable design from WeatherTech to protect the driver and passenger side in the front row of your Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The channels that provide that moisture pooling is a fantastic idea because what would the point be of getting all that off of your boots only to have it settle right back into the treads of your shoes when you're getting out. And really having that flexibility makes them easy to install and uninstall. So I would say overall, this is a great option for you if you're looking for an upgrade from your factory floor liners to these custom-fit cargo mats from WeatherTech.
