Video Transcript for Mount: PTC Custom Fit Cabin Air Filter on a 2017 Nissan Frontier

Shane : Hey guys, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2017 Nissan frontier, and I want to walk through how to install PTC custom Kevin air filters. Replacing your cabin air filters is going to be just as important as replacing your engine air filter. Replacing your engine air filter usually is about every 12 to 15,000 miles. I recommend when you replace your engine, air filter, check your cabin air filters and replacing as well. What happens is if you don't replace them, they start looking like this.

Now these are doing what they're supposed to do and that's collecting particles. So they don't blow through your air conditioning unit, but when you don't change them and they start collecting like this, as the air blows through, it's grabbing microscopic particles from here, blowing it into the cabin, which intern you are breathing that, that can cause allergies can make people sick. So I highly recommend changing them out. These are going to be a direct replacement. They're going to be custom fit as I mentioned.

So when you pull your old ones out, you stick the new ones in and you're ready to go.They're going to be pleaded. And what that means is, they kind of go up and down like this, and they're all connected. What it does is it creates a seal in between each one of these pleats so that none of the particles can get all the way through. None of the big particles I should say can get all the way through the new ones are going to be constructed of a white media particulate. And they're going to filter out over 90% of outside particles.

So it's going to allow your fresh air or air to blowing into your engine or into your cabin area, to be much more cleaner for knowing you, but also your passengers. As far as the installation process on these very simple, there is no need to take your vehicle to a shop and pay someone to put these in. I have my kids do these. This is one of the first lines of maintaining your vehicle. And it's a good way to teach them how to do it. Now that we've gone over some of the features.

So let me walk through how to get them installed. Start our installation. We need to remove our glove box. We're going to pull it down. We're going to push in on that top two corners that we're going to have a strap right here. We're going to unclick that we're going to slide it towards the passenger side and then out just like that we can set it down and out of the way, right here is your box for your filters and the old tab right here. We're going to push up on it and kind of pop the top. So the tab that comes through you push up, kind of pull this back and this'll come out. These are going to be our filters here. You kind of pushed like this gives you some to get ahold of maybe easier. If you have a small screwdriver or something to kind of pull that out, just let her fill it out. You can see how much stuff is collected in there. To be honest with you, it doesn't look like this thing's ever been changed. So we're going to have two of them. The other one is just pushed to the side. What I want you to notice that as you're pulling them out, there's an arrow that shows the airflow. So you want to make sure when you install your new ones, you're installing the same way arrow facing down. We can take our new ones to the airflow, arrows face them down, and we're going to slide them right into place. Just the same way, remove our other ones. Take our first one and inside, slide it over to the side there and then install the second one. Same way. Replace your cap, replace your glove box. And you're ready to go and start breathing fresh air again. That's going to do it for a look at and installation on the PTC custom Kevin air filters on your 2017 Nissan frontier.
