Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm going to walk you through how to install the PTC custom fit cabin air filter in your 2017 Hyundai Tucson. Replacing your cabin air filter regularly is going to allow the air flowing into the cabin to be much cleaner, not only for you, but also for any passengers. On your filter, you're going to notice it has pleats. And what happens is that the air flows through. It collects the particles, and they get caught down in the pleats, and it keeps it from going into the cabin of the vehicle.Let me assure you, you don't need to waste your money on having somebody else do this.
You can install it yourself. It is very simple. To start your installation we're going to come over to the passenger side. You want to open your glove box. We're going to have two little turn knobs, look like this.
You're just going to turn it, slide it out. On the outside here, you're going to have a little lever. You're just going to pull it out. This is your lever. Right up here is the cover for your cabin air filter.
We're going to push these two tabs together, slide out like that. Push the center. You'll notice how the edges kind of fold in. Just get a hold of one side and slide it out.You'll notice all the stuff that gets caught on there. So our air filter is doing what it's supposed to, but the more it gets clogged in there, the less air flow we're getting through into the cabin.
And we'll take our new air filter. We're to slide it into place. You're going to notice the air flow arrows. You want to make sure they're facing the correct direction. Place your cap, and put your glove box back into place. Then to put your glove box back into place, start with your level. Take your knobs, spin them, lock into place on each side.Once you get your glove box reinstalled, you're ready to go. Again, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. The PTC CABIN FILTER #3705 is a great value. Cost is always a factor when purchasing a disposable product, unless you have a lung disorder. Just keep in mind, it may be a long wait for delivery. Ours took several weeks to arrive ... Slow boat from China??
