Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Derale remote oil filter mount kit with three eighths inch NTP side ports. Basically this is going to allow you to mount your oil filter in a more convenient location to make it a little easier to get your oil changed out. Your oil filter changed and make it a lot quicker to do so. Basically this is mounted up like this. The bracket up here at the top will be mounted to a secure position, it comes with three self tapping screws to get that in place.
You can find that and then tighten that down with those screws. If it's oriented like this or to the side, our filter is going to come off from the side there.We'll have this three quarter inch oil filter nipple to go on the top of that so that we can get it connected to our oil filter. There's a little stop in the middle of this. There's a length of thread that's kind of embossed with some grooves to stop it in place. You want to put the shorter end towards this remote filter and then the other end is going to go into your actual oil filter and thread in place.We'll have our two barb fittings on either side.
We can use three eighths inch hose to go on this barb fitting for both of these. They have a three eighths inch NTP thread on either side. If you want to mount the barbs on the other side you can do so. It does show the in and out direction of flow for either side. You want to make sure that you have your barbs both on one side and then the plugs on the other.
Those plugs are going to have a hex head. There's not a tool that comes with this, so you will have to provide one on your own. And as far as the overall measurement with this from top to bottom, it's about four inches long.And then from side to side, our housing is about two and three quarter inches wide. And from front to back on our bracket it's about two inches deep. The rest of it is about an inch and a quarter or an inch and three eighths.
This does come with a one-year warranty from Derale, and that's going to do it for our look at the Derale remote oil filter mount kit with three eighths inch NTP side ports.
