I installed a trailer brake kit on my Ford Ranger over a year ago, finding the misc parts and install kit with the help of the etrailer Folks. My truck was rear ended recently, smashing the 7 pin connector, that came as one part number for multiple parts, mounted through the bumper. Calling the etrailer folks, they were able to single out the part I needed without buying the entire install kit again. One five minute phone call and I'm on my way again! Very pleased!

I just had to clip a few wires and it plugged into the 4 prong connector on the van and it works as it should

Perfect . My new Subaru hitch has a flat plate to which the dealership attaché the 4-flat. I used “2 L-brackets” to accommodate the 90 degree bend of the adapter bracket.

I recently had a receiver hitch installed on my 89 Silverado and the wiring was merely zip tied to the safety chain connection. Well that didn't sit well with me. I wanted a more permanent wiring connection point. So I purchased your 4 flat to 4 flat and 7 way plug and installed it. So far so good. The installation turned out perfect and it looks good. The test lights are a great thing as well. I couldn't be happier.

It's a bundle of wires with a plug. Hard to make this type of part special above other brands. Price is the big factor. Not quite sure why this one is 50% less cost than some others. But works as expected. Solved the dreaded taillights blinking while traveling on the road.

My trailer has a reverse lockout that requires the back-up light signal to disable its brakes when backing up. This adapter did the trick perfectly.

Adapter 4-pole To 5-pole Flat - works as described. Installed on 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. Connected blue wire to left rear light harness. Strongly recommend using a 12v tester for this install, as visual diagnosis can be wrong. Deduct one star because 5-plug has no cover and is susceptible to road grime. My solution is to leave original 4way plug with cover underneath the vehicle and connect 5plug adaptor only when towing boat.

I had a 2 inch trailer hitch and 4 pole flat wire harness professionally installed on my 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup. When I bought my boat the trailer was wired for a 5 pole flat harness. Took my truck back to the installer to have the harness exchanged and was told that there was no 5 pole flat harness made for my 2001 truck. I asked about splicing a 5 pole flat harness to the 4 pole flat harness and was told by the installer that they don't do splicing and because the 4 pole harness was already installed I couldn't get a refund. So the search was on to fix this problem. Stumbled upon the etrailer E-commerce site and found what I was looking for. A 4 pole flat to 5 pole flat adapter. The price was right, the service was 5 Star and I received the adapter in 4 days which was perfect. I had time to install it, and get my boat on the water that weekend. Thanks George J. 2 things. 1st@: I think there should be an option to pick tinned wire. 2nd: The ring terminal for the ground needs to be bigger.

I have now installed the following on my 2017 Wrangler: Brake light relay kit . Hopkins Towed vehicle Tail Light wiring kit. Blue Ox base plate. Blue Ox Patriot Portable RF Braking System. All of this has taken about 3 days of work spread out over a week or so. Overall it went well. Not too many surprises. Crawling around under a car at 71 is a bit of a strain but I'll get over it. I must say that Donna P. has been a wonderful source of great information and has stayed right on top of the process. eTrailer has been a great source for this project. I would recommend you all with no hesitation.

Was what I ordered, shipping was good. Spring on cover would not hold cover down. Had to take apart and bend spring.

This adapter really cleaned up the installation and connected directly to the wiring harness. Maybe added an additional 20 mins to install this adapter but totally worth the time and money.

Just what I needed for my home-built bike carrier. My wife rides an e-tricycle and by the time I loaded the trike and a couple of bikes on this platform, you could not see the car's taillights or blinkers. This harness worked perfectly!

Used this to rewire a 6 x 10 trailer. Inserted the wire through 3 feet of metal conduit to keep it from being damaged near the coupling. So now the only exposed wire is the ¼ inch right at the connector.

The quality of the materials for this wire connector is very high, especially the insulation on the wires. One thing to note is the wire colors do not match the standard colors associated with this style of 7-Way plug. Definitely use a continuity tester to determine which wire goes to which blade in the plug. Other than that, this is a good product for the price.

I added it to my trailer, so when in camp I could have the running lights on without the truck.

Overall, I was very impressed by this connector. I used it as an in-bed connector for my gooseneck trailers. The plug seems to be a quality product, engineered to stand up to some abuse. I like how the mounting bolt heads recess into the connector and also how the bottom of the connector is elongated to help support the weight of the plug and wiring. I think it has a great shot at lasting for a very long time. The hinge is predominately plastic that will not corrode and break like the many I've had in the past.

Purchased Rv trailer socket for "in bed" installation in my Ram truck. Installation went smoothly and etrailer videos were most helpful in visualizing the install. Product works as described and ordering and delivery were on schedule. Thanks for the great service!

Worked out pretty good. Had a hard time figuring out just how to attach it. I ended up just zip tieing it. It was a life saver that I could pull the rear plug apart. Made it possible to slide part of the harness thought a tight hole.

Really easy to install. Plugs right in to the flat four wiring. I found a decent spot to mount the bracket and finished the installation. 5 minutes max. At this time I didn’t have to wire up a brake controller. That’s going to be a project for a different time. I would definitely recommend this product.

The product was exactly what I had hoped for, a high quality exact replacement for the one that I had that was 17 years old. It arrived when it was supposed to and was easy to install.

I rewired my boat trailer using the wesbar 4-flat connector from junction box to the hitch. I do wish the wesbar connector was available in tinned wire. I used tinned 14 ga tinned wire for the rest of the wire and ran a ground wire to every light eliminating the trailer frame as a ground. Also added a switch at junction box for a manual trailer reverse flood lights. Filled the junction box with removable potting Gel to prevent water/corrosion. Works great. No issues. Never been stuck on the side of the road troubleshooting an electrical issue / bad ground. Would purchase this again, unless I could find a marine/tinned wire version, then I would purchase that one instead.

Hefty cable with thick sheathing. Should hold up well to rugged use & the elements.

This is the 2nd one of these I have purchased. They are a good product (therefore the 2nd purchase) but have a few areas that could be improved. 1) In cold northern winters (MN -10 F), the cable gets very stiff, because of the lack of flex, my trailer connection pulled out when turning, dragged on the ground and ground down the plug. 2) the connection where the cable jacket meets the plug separated (again, due to cold weather?). Even though I would prefer a more temperature-forgiving flexible cable, I believe this design is better than the other 4-flat trailer-end wiring harnesses currently available. I also purchased a Hopkins Endurance Quick-Fix Replacement 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector w LED Test Lights - Trailer End to as a quick fix to this cable to temporarily fix my trailer wiring until permanent repairs can be done.

Really quality piece. Plenty of length to connect back to the rest of my utility trailer wiring that was still in good shape since it was in an area subject to far less abuse. Nothing worse than having to fix the corroded wires in between replacing the worn out plug every few years. This should give me years maintenance free service even with the toll winter takes.

I have to say this is one quality product. I haven't used it yet however it is exactly what i need for my 8x30' camper which will be my permanent home on some land i own in a warmer climate. this is heavy duty wiring and plugs. fits the bill for me, i am so very happy i found this it will make my life easier, i thought i was going to have to rewire my trailer till I found this set.
