Best Jeep Cherokee Folding Trailer Tongues

Was a pragmatic and effective solution to have my boat in my garage to work on, or have to store it in a remote location. Was easy to assemble with clear directions and overall mounts solidly and rotates easily. What I don’t like is that the hinge sags and has some play so if if you hit bumps it will come up on the hitch because of the verticals play. Wish there was a solution to this, which is probably not a problem with a heavier boat and longer distance from the hinge point to hitch.

Installation was easy. I installed it in a Shorland'r trailer. It took me about 2 - 3 hours including clean-up. I am 100% satisfied! All the hardware, Torx drive, prick punch and safety stickers were included. Instructions were clear and easy to follow, but I was surprised it called for torque of 75Lbs. on each bolt. Tools used were a pencil, square, high tension hack saw (18TPI), file, prick punch (included), hammer, safety glasses, 18V portable drill w/ 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2 bits, Torx socket (included), 3/4 box-end wrench, 12" adjustable wrench & torque wrench. I also added a sheath to the wiring to reduce any chaffing that may occur across the new hardware. You may want to consider additional safety chains depending on haw far back you reinstall them on the tongue. One other note: The 3x3 box tube tongue on my trailer was a bit small. The coupler easily slid over the 3x3 box tube. I had to draw up the bolts to ensure a tight fit. I used a large adjustable wrench on the Torx socket with a small length of pipe on the end of the wrench (for mechanical advantage purposes). It drew up and tightened just fine. Overall, it was an easy install. It did exactly what I bought it to do!

The fold-away coupler works flawlessly. It was the perfect solution for a too long trailer tongue. The installation was easy and all the necessary parts were included and instructions were clear and understandable. Highly recommend this problem solver to anyone who needs to gain room in any storage situation.

This Fulton swing away tongue fit perfectly once I got all the parts. The package was missing the shoulder bolts because the box was damaged in shipping. etrailer got me the bolts quickly. I am pleased with this order.

This fold away coupler replaces my original one which had cracked. This one is desgned alot more heavy duty. The coupler itself was easy to install, it was just getting to that point where all the work was. It required removal of the surge brake actuator and brake line. This required removal of the trailer tungue and bleeding of the brakes. But, all was rebuilt, and the new coupler installation went very well and works perfectly. I had alot more to do than what I thought, but it’s all rebuilt and I have no worries towing the boat. Thank you.

This is perfect for fitting a boat and trailer in a garage. It is sturdy, convenient and frees up space. It can also help as a theft deterrent. Takes about an hour or 2 to install.
