Trunx Rooftop Cargo Carrier - 9 cu ft - Black
We recently purchased the Black 18 Cubic Foot Car Top Cargo Rooftop Cargo Box (Item #CTC-18S) when transporting our daughter and her belongings to college. The carrier is relatively light weight; yet very durable and does not generate elevated noise or vibration when driving at high speeds. It allowed us to store lighter; but bulky items such as linens, blankets and seasonal clothes while freeing up space within our SUV for occupants and heavier items. This was the first time I had used a rooftop carrier and visions of retrieving lost items along the interstate ran through my mind for the first 200 or so miles. Despite some heavy downpours and high winds, we completed the 900 mile journey without incident. Upon arrival, everything within the carrier was fully intact and completely dry. I would highly recommend this product…. it is relatively inexpensive, easy to install and have found it to be a good solution for meeting our travelling needs.
Customer service goes a long way in my book and how an item is presented on its website I've boughten stuff from etrailer before for my prior truck and always had an amazing experience with Etrailer.this is my first cargo box for my new to me Subaru Impreza sport hatchback and doing research on buying one wasn't easy but etrailer made the process quick and painless with exactly what I needed and dimensions were spot on and instructions were perfect couldn't be any more happier with my purchase.the trunx's brand box perfectly compliments my car and looks awesome on it thanks again etrailer you guys rock

Save your money and do not buy this product, it's poorly manufactured to say the least. 1), the plastic gauge is way to thin making the final product to flimsy. 2) while the order information asked me for make, model and year of vehicle it did not match factory rail specifications. The factory roof rack system for Honda CRV is not adjustable and the 22 inch spread identified for product does not work for Honda installed roof rack systems. 3) lastly, the hinge design on this unit is poorly designed and will not align without modifications to bend the tabs so that they properly align with the slots. Once again, do not waste your money on this product.
The roof top box is definitely big enough for my all my family's gear, planning a road trip out West that includes some camping along the way. The plastic was a bit flimsier than I had expected and I was NOT impressed with the PLASTIC clamps around the side. I'm not too worried of the lid flying off if a clamp or two breaks - the front of the box locks and there is a pin in the rear hinge - however, I'm packing extra rope just in case. It also appears that the rivets holding the rails and lock to the container are also made of plastic. I do a lot of camping, I'll likely update my review after putting it through a few runs.
