Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Bolt trailer coupler lock. Now, this is gonna be used in place of your standard pin on your trailer coupler to help prevent theft of your trailer. This will work on your trigger latch style or lever latch style ball couplers. This does have a 5/16th inch diameter of pin that will allow the lock to slide back and forth along the pin to accommodate couplers ranging in size from a 1/2 inch up to 3 and 3/8ths of an inch. The little notches here allow the lock to lock-in in increments of 1/8th of an inch.
So you are gonna get a nice snug fit no matter what the diameter of your coupler is. This lock does use your vehicle's ignition key. The first time you use it, you'll put your key in there, twist it around and that will code the lock to your key. So you'll always have the right key with you, you won't have to worry about having a special, other key for your lock. Just use your ignition key.
This is designed specifically to code to your 2021 and newer Ford F-150's ignition key. So once you get that ignition key put in there and coded, the lock is gonna be permanently coded to that vehicle's key. You won't be able to recode it or re-key the lock here, so be sure that you're using the right key for you. If you ever change vehicles in the future, you'll have to get a different one. This does have a nice heavy duty construction with security features to ensure that it's gonna be a theft deterrent for you.
The plate tumbler sidebar prevents picking and/or bumping. The lock's automatically going to lock when the key is removed. The double ball bearing locking mechanism inside is gonna be very, very secure for you. It does have nice weatherproof, automotive quality construction. A stainless steel pin that's gonna be very durable and rustproof.
The lock is also a stainless steel, so it's gonna have a shutter to help keep out dirt and moisture. And then the outer casing is painted black to resist corrosion. So it's gonna last a nice long time, be very secure for you, help to make sure that your trailer is gonna stay where you want it. I still like all of the Bolt products and am still using them. I would say that I do not recommend the Bolt padlocks as while they have the same great key setup I think the shackle is too long, too thin, and too exposed for easy removal by a small grinder or bolt cutter. Otherwise great stuff. I do wish they actually made a hockey puck style padlock instead
