Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the TowSmart BAJA Collection ball mount with the two inch hitch ball for two inch hitches. Offers a two inch drop and a 3/4 inch rise, and has a 5,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this ball mount will let you hook your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank portion back here is what'll slide into your vehicle's two inch hitch receiver, and it'll secure into the receiver using the included pin and clip. Hitch pin diameter is 5/8 of an inch.
So you'll slide this in your hitch receiver, line up your holes, slide the pin all the way through, and then clip it to secure it in place. Now, we do also offer hitch locks, which will offer extra security if you want secure it so nobody can remove it. You can put a hitch lock through there. We do sell those separately. Now the hitch ball right here, this is what'll provide the connection point for your trailer's coupler.
The diameter on this ball is two inches. Also, what's nice on this, if you look, the ball mount is designed with the unique X-shaped shank so that the water can drain out of your receiver while it's installed, preventing this ball mount from seizing up in your hitch receiver. Now, they do offer both drop and rise positions. These are available to ensure level towing. The maximum drop would be this position, which would be two inches.
That's measured from the top here to the bottom. If you want it in the rise, you would flip it over this way, and you would have to break the nut loose and reverse the ball so it's in the rise position, and the 3/4 inch measurement is from here to the top of the ball platform. Now, a nice feature they use on this is called a lock rail system. And what that does is that'll let you break this nut loose and if you need to reverse the ball, there's lock rails, let me just zoom in even closer, you'll notice they're ridges that run all the way up here, and then if you flip it over in the rise position, they have the ridges here too. So if you break this nut loose and you flip the ball over, when you put it in there, those ridges will hold these lock flats on the hitch ball in position so you don't have to have a wrench on it, and then you can torque your nut down to specifications.
So those lock rails will help you torque that hitch ball down with a single wrench. Now, this is a durable steel, has a black matte finish to resist rust and corrosion. Few specs again, this fits a two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. Gross towing weight capacity is 5,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity is 500 pounds. And the last thing we wanna do is just give you the length. And a ball mount, when they say the length of a ball mount, that's the measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. So if we take a ruler and we go center to center, measure 8 1/2 inch measurement. But that should do it for a look at this TowSmart BAJA Collection ball mount with a two inch hitch ball for two inch hitches.

The hitch that I ordered came with a ball and pin that ordinarily one has to purchase separately. That was convenient for me since the price was better than any other option. etrailer.com has been a great source for me in the past and continues to be so.
This particular hitch took longer than normal to receive, but I assume it was coming from the other side of the planet. Apart from that, it was A great purchase.
Looks good but time will tell. Should include instructions as to what to do and remove the plastic insert in the pin hole.

Ball did not fit my trailer. I chose to not just replace the ball. Had been gifted the right sized ball literally by the Lord himself. Day B4 this one arrived. Was with items a neighbor was discarding! Talk about Him running ahead and providing even before I pray for it! He does that so often especially when Iam doing my best to obey Him in areas I struggle with. He's so amazing!

Flipped this mount upside down for the rise. Leveled out my little trailer just fine. If your bumper is too thick, this might be too short. Worked well with my ‘26 Equinox EV.
Great quality, the 1.25” hitch has a x design shaft which significantly reduces the chance of it getting stuck inside your hitch and insuring a tight fit without the wiggle and clunk that other brands and designs have. Great purchase!
