Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Replacement Crossbar for Exposed Racks Roof Rack

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today. We're going to take a look at the exposed racks, universal 48 and a half inch long multi-function, square crossbar, for the Jeep JL and the JLU Wranglers. This is a universal crossbar that can be used to add an exposed racks crossbar system to your Jeep, or to even upgrade an existing exposed rack system. It is designed to work with the Jeep JL Wrangler, which is the two door and the Jeep JLU, which is the Wrangler unlimited four door. And it will work with soft top or hard top models.

As far as the heavy duty carbon steel construction, all the crossbars are machine cleaned and then they're electroplated inside and out, as a protective barrier against the elements. And then they put a powder coat finish on them. This one is a nice textured black finish, let me just zoom in, so you can see the finish on it. It is also available in a red finish.Now this does use a click in design, if you notice those laser cuts square cutouts on the bar, this is designed to accept the exposed rack's push pin accessories, the kayak mounts, universal mounting plates, all the items we do sell separately on our website. And basically those exposed rack accessories are designed to line up into the square hole and then you push them down.

And then there has a push pin in it, that'll click to the square holes into the rack. And then to remove it, you just push in on the pin and you can pop it right out. So it makes it very quick and easy to move the accessories from one hole to another on this crossbar. It will also allow the use of other manufacturers rooftop accessories on your Jeep, and it can also be used to install a rooftop tent on your Jeep.Now, if it does, if you do use this on a soft top, the soft top will close over the crossbars without any interference. And there is no drilling needed for installation.

Of mounting hardware and mounting brackets to install this to your vehicle, we do sell separately. They offer them for the soft top or for the hard top. The part is made in the USA. Last thing I want to do is just give you the dimensions on this crossbar, overall length from this end to this end, going to be right at 48 and a half inches. And it's a square, so the width and the height is both going to be one and a quarter inches.
