Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this PullRite Single Point, SuperLite gooseneck-to-fifth wheel trailer hitch adapter. Now this trailer hitch adapter converts the gooseneck hitch in your truck so you can tow a fifth-wheel trailer. And this is going to attach to your 2-5/16" ball on your factory and aftermarket underbed gooseneck hitches. And on your screen, I'm popping up a photo there, showing you what this looks like underneath. Showing you where this is going to connect to that ball.
And you're just gonna remove those pins and clips, drop those over that 2-5/16" ball in the bed of your truck, replace the pins and clips, and then this will be connected to that ball. And this hitch is lightweight, so this is gonna be able to be pretty easily removed from the bed of your truck to leave a clean, open bed for hauling. This weighs about 64 pounds, so it's not terribly heavy at all. And this hitch is made from high-quality steel with a black powder coat finish. It's going to resist rust and corrosion.
It's gonna continue to look great in the bed of your truck. And this has a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds and a vertical load of 5,000 pounds. And this does feature a unique two-piece design that's going to allow for fast and easy coupling. So this coupler that's included is going to bolt around your trailer's kingpin, and that's going to give you a new connection point. And it's gonna give you this ball now, as a connection point, when this is bolted over your kingpin on your trailer.
And then this open funnel here on this hitch head is gonna make it very easy to guide this ball in. So just give you a brief demonstration here. And this is gonna be easy to see from your cab during hookup. And so I've got the ball in the funnel, and then I just wanna show you how to secure it here. Just like that.
And so the ball is going to be secured in place. And then when you're ready to remove it, it does include this remote latch handle. So this is designed to reach that release latch from a lower tailgate, so you don't have to climb into the bed of your truck. So just give you a brief demonstration of that. So my latch is now open. And now I'll be able to easily uncouple the ball from that funnel, just like that. So this is gonna be overall a pretty easy installation to get that around your kingpin. This is going to provide up to eight inches of extra cab clearance. And then the height is going to be able to adjust to fit your application from 15-and-three-quarters inches up to 18-and-three-quarters inches. And I'm giving you a side view here, hopefully you can see we have a clip here and a pin. And so you're going to remove that pin and clip to adjust the height of the funnel. And then probably right there you can see that connection point for your ball. So just give you a side profile there so you can kinda picture in your mind how you're gonna get that height adjustment that you're looking for. And then you probably notice here these rails on the side, these are Bed Saver Rails, and they're going to connect to the bottom of this hitch. And the rails are coated with a bedliner-type material. Lemme see if I can kinda give you a closeup of that. And this is going to protect the bed of your truck against scratches, paint wear, and galvanic corrosion. I can never say that word right. When it comes in contact with aluminum truck beds. So it's just going to sit like this in this orientation. Hopefully you can see that in the bed of your truck. And then this will just sit right on top of it. So that's going to protect the bed of your truck, but it's also. These rails are also engineered to help distribute the weight of the load more evenly and to keep the hitch from laterally rotating out of its intended position. Now, one thing that I did want to mention before I wrap up our time together is this is not going to be compatible with the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck trailer hitch for early model years of the Ram 1500, just so you're aware of that bit of information. But if you do decide to pick this up, we would love to hear back from you regarding the installation and how you're using this, how everything's going for you. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
This hitch is Well built, it's all steel & powder coated. it is Easy to install and easy to handle. It has a smaller foot print leaving more bed space. I replaced a Pullrite Super Glide which weighed over 200 lbs. was dirty & took up most of the bed space. I had an AUH before and prefer the Pullrite Super Lite because its sturdier and more solid. My AUH broke.
