Hello, neighbors. Steve here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at a replacement Base Assembly for the Demco Recon Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapters. Now folks, this does replace the base assembly on your Demco Recon Flat Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter. That part is sold separately, the head and everything. And you get three height settings with this to install and fit your application.
You have a 12 inch, 13 and a quarter or 14 and a half, and that's by simply moving those set screws down there, here in the front. And then this head unit would be able to go up or down once you pull the pin and everything as well. This whole thing is made of a sturdy steel construction with a rust resistant black powder coat finish. It's a very quick and simple installation. You simply install all of the gooseneck hitch in those recess aluminum flatbed trucks.
And you do have a gross towing weight of 21,000 pounds max for this system, and a vertical load limit max of 5,250 pounds. Now, as far as some dimensions, this guy, on the top part here square is 24 and a quarter by 24 and a quarter square. So again, folks, this is the replacement base part of that 5th wheel application. You would simply just need the head unit. You'd pull this pin, put the head unit on, and then you'd be ready to go.
And then you get back and forth. And then with that specific head unit, it can pivot on this pin and give you forward and back pivots as well. It's kinda hard to see, but there is a pin back here for the part that goes over the gooseneck ball itself. Let me show you an underside image. So this is from underneath, looking up inside the bottom.
You can see on the bottom center of that photo there, the silver part. That's where the ball's connecting. And again, this is going into the recess portion of those flatbed trucks that are out there for the gooseneck ball to convert it to a 5th wheel. Well folks, I'm Steven. Thanks so much for watching with me. Have a great day, and stay safe.
