Hi Jerome,
When matching the wiring on your 2006 Ford F-250 to the Pollak part # PK12-707E 7-way socket, the key is to match everything by function rather than just by color since Ford and Pollak use different color codes.
On your Ford, the wiring should be:
White – Ground
Orange – 12V Power
Blue – Brake Output
Yellow – Left Turn/Brake
Green – Right Turn/Brake
Brown – Running Lights
Black/Green – Reverse
On the Pollak socket, the wiring functions are:
White – Ground
Black – 12V Battery Charge
Blue – Electric Brake Output
Red – Left Turn/Stop
Brown – Right Turn/Stop
Green – Tail/Running Lights
Yellow – Auxiliary (commonly used for reverse on RV-style 7-way)
So your connections would line up like this:
Ford White = Pollak White (Ground)
Ford Orange = Pollak Black (12V Power)
Ford Blue = Pollak Blue (Brake Output)
Ford Yellow = Pollak Red (Left Turn/Brake)
Ford Green = Pollak Brown (Right Turn/Brake)
Ford Brown = Pollak Green (Running Lights)
Ford Black/Green = Pollak Yellow (Reverse/Auxiliary)
To be safe, I would still test each wire on your Ford with a circuit tester by function before making your final connections. Verifying each circuit, running lights, turn signals, brake signal, reverse, and 12V power will give you confidence everything is wired correctly and save you from chasing any wiring issues later on.
What are you towing with your F-250? Do you already have a brake controller?
