Wiring to Add Trailer Connector to 2014 Ram 2500 Truck Bed

Updated 02/11/2025 | Published 02/08/2025

Question:

I am looking for a no splice trailer wire extension kit to put power and lights in the bed of my 2014 Ram 2500. I am not using the right keywords to locate. Do you sell a harness to do this?

Hey Matt! What you're looking for is 5th Wheel/Gooseneck wiring. The Curt # C56070 plugs in-line with the back of your factory 7-way allowing you to run a separate 7-way connector up to the truck bed. Are you looking for tie-downs as well? I noticed you were looking at the # TL29DR. If you can tell me your bed length, if you have running boards (none, cab length, full length), and the type of hitch you have I would be happy to help you find the right parts. Just let me know in the comments below.

I believe I found it this morning, can you let me know if this order is correct for a short bed It did show as correct when I entered my vehicle type It’s actually not gonna be for a fifth wheel so I don’t need the magnetic pull away. It’s just gonna be in the side of the bed to plug a cab over camper into. Order #122031557

@MattK Hopkins isn't my favorite for wiring but the part you ordered will also work.

@Matt the Curt is the more reliable option of the two. Nothing is guaranteed but, overall they have less issues compared to Hopkins.
