Question:

Greetings: I have a 2014 Livin Lite Quicksilver Camper 6.0. I want to put struts on my camper to enable me to open it on my own. I do not know the size or length or position. Do you know where I can obtain this information. Thank you, Harriet Wilt

Hello Harriet,

Great idea, and great question. We have not installed something like that here at etrailer, so it took some research to find a way to make it happen. I am not sure of what the weight of the lid for the 2014 Livin Lite Quicksilver Camper 6.0, but I did find a video where a gentleman was able to accomplish this by using gas struts for a 1995 Jeep Cherokee liftgate which would be out part # ATL48GR, then you could use a set of the Gas Shock Mounting Brackets - 10 mm - Qty 2 # 372BR-1020 for your mounting spots. Some other information that I found helpful for accomplishing this is: When I installed the struts I had them fully extended and I positioned the bunk straight up (perpendicular) to the cabin area.

I wish I could add the link to where I found this information, but if you do a google search for "how to install gas struts on 2014 Livin Lite Quicksilver Camper 6.0," look for a youtube video by Senior Adventure - Quicksilver Livin' Lite accessories and camp hacks. The Struts are the 2nd thing that he shows off in his video, his music is very soothing as well.

After you get it set up, please send me a picture so I can get it added to our site. I am surprised we do not already have something like this on our site already.

Happy New Year! May 2025 be your best year yet! From, your friends here at etrailer.
