Question:
Hello, I am looking to purchase a rack for my 2009 Honda Fit, sport. The roof is currently naked. I would like to transport 2 kayaks. I am thinking that foldable J hooks would be my best bet, but that is a guess. Any advise would be helpful. I am trying to keep costs down. Thank you.

You can go in one of two possible directions for transporting your two kayaks on your 2009 Honda Fit Sport.
One is indeed to install a roof rack and rack-mount kayak carriers such as the J-style units you referred to. The other option that will be far lower in cost is to skip the roof rack entirely and use a foam block type kayak carrier that will work on your naked roof. These kayak carriers are inexpensive, very light in weight and easy to install and remove. Since you Fit Sport have not have a huge roof weight capacity to begin with (check your owner's manual) this could be a better option if your two kayaks' combined weight is near the vehicle's roof weight limit.
The most cost effective option we offer for your car is the Rightline Gear Kayak Carrier # RL100K10. This and other foam block type carriers are shown on the link provided.
If you want a roof rack to enable use of J-style carriers the most cost-effective rack we offer is the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1002 that you reviewed. To this rack you can mount one of the carriers shown on the provided link, all of which fit square crossbars like those in the SportRack system. You can use the filters at the left-hand side of the page to narrow the results shown based on your preferences.
