Parts Needed to Convert Surge Disc Brake EZ Loader Trailer to Electric Over Hydraulic
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I have a 2019 EZ Loader boat trailer with surge brakes. I want to convert it to electric over hydraulic and replace the tongue coupler with a straight coupler. The trailer has the Dexter PG1095 actuator on it right now, and the bolt pattern is different than any coupler I see on your site. Is it ok to drill holes in this coupler to match the current hole pattern? Or do you know of a coupler that will match?

If you wanted to drill holes in the Demco Coupler # DM13203-95 to make it easier to attach to your trailer frame you certainly could. Just be mindful where you drill the holes and don't turn it into swiss cheese.
When it's time to pick out an electric over hydraulic kit I would highly recommend the Hydrastar actuators as they are the most reliable and among the quickest reacting. For a kit that comes with everything for your trailer you would want the # HS481-8067.
