Availability Of 18-1/2" Gas Shock For Boat Hatch
Question:
the gas strut on my boat hatch measures 18.5 inches - I see you have 17 and 20 inches - would a 20inch work just not fully extended?

I have a better option for you, but it's possible a 20" shock would work, but you may run into issues with it not closing all of the way.
You're better off going with an exact replacement which is the # ATL44BR which is an 18-1/2" gas shock.
