What Wheels do Snow Chains Belong on for a 2012 Ford Escape
Question:
I have a 2012 Ford Escape AWD. I am going to a snowy area and will be buying tire chains. Do I need one set or two. If the answer is one, do I put them in front or rear?

The first thing you need to do is consult the owners manual of your 2012 Ford Escape to see if there are any restrictions on snow chains. You may find that they recommend chains on either the front, back or both axles and there could also be clearance restrictions as well.
For all wheel drive vehicles we recommend that the primary drive wheels get the chains if only one set is to be used. Two sets would be the best possible setup if your owners manual allows it but I found an owners manual online for your vehicle and it states to only use chains on the front wheels.
The manual also said to only use S rated chains, this is a clearance rating.
The Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW2029C that you referenced are confirmed to fit the tire size of your vehicle and are S rated so they should work well. I also attached a link to a page that has all of the S rated chains confirmed to fit your tire size for you to check out.
I also attached a link to an FAQ page for snow chains.
