I bought this last year for my 2016 GMC 5.3L and want to know if I can lower the shift points?

Yes, the Superchips Flashpaq F5 Pro Custom Performance Tuner - Gas/Diesel SU5845 does allow you to lower the shift points on your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L V8 engine. However, this device does require you to pre-load tunes in order to use lowered shift points.
