What Alarm Setting Should Be Used When Setting Up TST TPMS for RVs
Updated 07/19/2021 | Published 07/17/2021 >
Question:
As stated I have a TST 507 RV 8 C TPMS System. I am running Goodyear Endurance ST235/80R16 tires 4. My normal air pressure is 75 PSI with a max of 80 PSI. I”m pulling a 5th wheel RV with a max GVWR of 13,998. I’m a little confused on the general set up of high/low air pressure setting and max air temp setting. I can find the max air temp setting on my tire sidewall or on Goodyear website. If you have a suggestion where to find that I’d appreciate it. The TST has a preset of 158’ F but I’m not sure if thats ok base on my tire specs. I read that the low pressure should be 10 less than max which would be 80 PSI - 8 PSI or 72 PSI. Or should I use the 75 PSI - 7.5 PSI or 67.5 PSI. I have no idea how to set the high pressure or the general way to figure it out. I’ve read other QandA on etrailer.com and it seems the high PSI can fluctuate pretty significantly. Any help is much appreciated

In regards to the TST TPMS for RVs like part # TST-507-RV-4-C, the high temperature alarm setting of 158°F should remain unchanged. The high pressure alarm should be set at 20-25% over your normal tire pressure and the low pressure alarm should be set at 10% below your normal tire pressure. If you like, you can reach out to the trailer tire manufacturer to see if they have any other figures you can use but these will work for the majority of tires.
