Furrion 14,500 BTU Air Conditoner Start/Run Amps
Question:
Will a 2500 watt starting power inverter generator run a Furrion 14500 air conditioner?

Expert Reply:
Furrion states that their 14,500 BTU air conditioner runs on 14.6 amps (1752 watts) This unit includes a start capacitor to dull the electrical spike. Furrion does not tell the starting amps with a capacitor, but you could probably just squeak by with 2200 watts. Keep in mind that 2500 Watt inverter generators always mean peak momentary watts. The normal continuous wattage is 2200 watts.
However, you are going to have other electrical things running like lights, heaters, microwave ovens, and lap top computers. What you might consider is A-iPower 3,800-Watt Portable Inverter Generators # 289-SUA2000i-2 3000/3800 watts. That should wrap up all of your needs.
