What does a red flashing light mean? We have run the fireplace overnight in cool nights. Sometimes it is fine. Sometimes we get a red flashing light and it stops heating.

According to Furrion, you likely have one of two issues going on.
Firstly, your fireplace has proximity sensors that will shut it down if something comes too close to it, such as a pet. If this isn't the case, I was told that on some Grand Design RV models, the fireplace mantel was blocking the sensor, causing it to go into the shut down mode. The solution there is to enlarge the hole in the wire mesh around the sensor, which will prevent this from recurring.
Secondly, the fireplace isn't intended to be the only source of heat on your RV. If this is the only heat source you're using, the unit can overheat and shut itself down for a time and can be restarted once it cools off. If that's what's occurring, use an additional heat source.
