Question:
My 2010 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel landing gear is giving me trouble. Weak, will stop then after resting a few seconds will lift again for a few seconds before stopping again. Now, it has started blowing fuses. I feel that I should replace the motor and gearbox. The model on the motor is 1-065-041012-01. Is your replacement LG-196308? Gearbox LG-179015? Thanks.

The Replacement Motor for Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set part # LG-196308 is likely the replacement you need. It is designed to fit a wide variety of landing gear sets out there and the Replacement Aluminum Gearbox for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear part # LG-179015 is the correct gearbox for the motor.
It sounds to me as if it is in the motor rather than in the gearbox because of the fact it reset for a while before fully failing. I would start there and get the gearbox if needed. I would also check your motor and verify that the bolt measurements on the linked motor page is the same just to be sure.
I linked the video I did on the whole system for you to check out.
