How To Install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit On a 2011 Jeep Liberty
Question:
I have a 2011 Jeep Liberty with the factory trans cooler built into the radiator. I want to add this as an auxiliary trans cooler as is the recommended way per the instructions. I am having a hard time figuring out where in the factory transmission lines to route and connect the hose from this cooler.

In order to install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503 on your 2011 Jeep Liberty you will first need to identify which of the two transmission fluid hoses that leads into the radiator is for the return. This can be done by taking a quick trip around the block, grabbing each line with your hand, and feeling which is colder as that would be for the return. Once you have found this return line you will remove it from the radiator and route it to the new cooler. The other barb on the cooler will then go to the port on the radiator that the old hose was attached via the included radiator adapter fitting.
I have attached a photo to assist with the above.
