For your 2018 and your 2016 Volvo XC60 models, I recommend using the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # Y02633. Since you are indifferent to a two or three bike rack, I recommend going with the 3 bike rack because it gives you the option to add that third bike or give you better spacing between your bikes if you prefer.

The Yakima FullBack is ideal for your vehicle because it has the hooks that can be set into anchor mode so it gives you a better connection with the inside of the vehicle instead of hooks on the outside. Your particular vehicle will require these anchor mode straps for the best fit.

The Fullback utilizes ZipStrip straps to make it extremely easy to load and unload your bikes. If you have step through frames, you may also want to consider using the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005 which will create a top frame rail between your seat post and handlebars for level transport and proper ground clearance.
