Question:

i have a 2009 honda pilot with factory aero bars. i want to mount a large cargo basket AND a kayak carrier on the roof. I am considering the Thule TH895XT and Swagman S65148. If I need to flip the kayak carrier the other way to get it to fit, is that ok to do? Thanks!

The Thule Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT is a fit for crossbar spreads of between 20 inches to 37 inches with the widest spread between crossbar centers giving the best load distribution. The Swagman Contour Rooftop Kayak Carrier System with Tie-Downs # S65148 is a great option as well. When you say flip the other way, I assume you mean the taller side of the J-style carrier being inward or outward. The direction of that taller side does not change the compatibility it will only change the ease of loading as it is far easier to load when you don't need to lift the kayak over the higher support bar.
