Recommendations for Towing Using a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid

Updated 09/08/2017 | Published 09/07/2017

Question:

Does the CURT C11681 trailer hitch require the removal of the under body piece as does the draw tite 24899 hitch? Is the Draw Tite 24899 a better hitch? Is the C56299 wire harness correct for the use of Led lights which are on my new Accord hybrid? Please list any other trailer light kits as the ion is confusing and I want to be sure that I order the correct kit. Thanks

Neither Curt nor Draw-Tite confirm a fit for your 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid, but we have had a customer install one on a hybrid. His review can be found on the page for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11681. It did require a little more modification of the underbody panels.

For your trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118684 which will work with the LED lights. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Honda Accord's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear threshold and some interior lining to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to the power cable stud on the driver's side and connect the wire using the ring terminal. Then insert the included 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

For light towing, I recommend the Curt ball mount # C45521 along with a hitch ball like # A-82 for a 2 inch or # A-80 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter.
