Recommending Four-Bike Platform Rack Among Hollywood, Swagman and Malone
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Shopping for a 4 bike platform rack and trying not to spend more than $600. So far, my top 3 seem to be the Hollywood Sport Rider Se, the Swagman Quad 2+2, and the Malone Pilot HM2. In your opinion, which one of these is the best quality and features in my budget?

The most bang for your buck is going to be the Hollywood Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z, which, like the Swagman Quad # S64692 and Malone Pilot # MPG2112-2115 is a tilt-away, fold-up rack that uses ratcheting hooks and wheel holders to keep the bikes steady.
The Hollywood does this for less but still provides an anti-rattle device, a hitch lock so the rack is secured to your vehicle, and a cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack. So do the Swagman and Malone, though they are pricier. The other racks certainly look sleeker than the Hollywood, but for function and value, the Sport Rider is going to be your best bet. You'll just need to make sure there is at least 5" from your hitch receiver opening to your bumper, as that will be how far the closest part of the Hollywood is when folded up.
I have added links to video reviews of each of these products for you to take a look at.
