Question:
Is the Yakima waterproof? The dimensions are given in cubic feet, but how tall is the shortest part of the carrier? Outback 2013.

Roof mounted cargo boxes are weather resistant, but not waterproof. Under severe weather conditions it is possible that some moisture could get into the box.
If you have something that absolutely cannot get wet, then we recommend putting it in a waterproof package first such as a sealed plastic bag before loading it in the carrier.
The external dimensions of the Yakima Cargo Carrier part # Y07192 that you referenced is 74" long x 33" wide x 16" tall.
