Can the Straps on the Thule SnowPack Ski Carrier be Easily Cut
Question:
I noticed the quick install system on the Thule SnowPack uses a rubber strap that goes under the crossbar, hooks and is tightened to a secure position and then locked into place. This seems like a great, convenient design, however, I am curious if stealing the rack from the car is as simple as cutting the rubber strap? Can you tell me if it is reinforced or has a metallic core that would make it more difficult to cut? Thank you for your help!

The straps on the Thule SnowPack ski carrier # TH7326 are called the Speed-Link system. The straps in this system are rubber-coated stainless steel so cutting through them would be more difficult and a would-be thief would move on to an easier target. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier.
