How to Carry 17 Foot Sea Kayaks with a 2013 Nissan Altima Sedan

Hello. Can you please tell me what the distance is from the front crossbar to the rear crossbar on the 2013 Altima sedan? Im needing a base system that will allow me to carry two 17foot sea kayaks. Yakimas standard setup is only 26inch from bar to bar which they told me is too close for boats that long.

On a 2013 Nissan Altima sedan, the system with the most space between the crossbars (measuring from the center of one bar to the center of the next bar) is 28 inches. You would use crossbars # WB-S16 and fit kit # WB-K483. This is probably not going to provide you with enough length to safely mount the sea kayaks to the vehicle.
What I recommend is to use what is called a roof rack on wheels. This is essentially a small trailer meant to carry items like a roof rack would. You can use # RRT60 and 4 foot extension # RRTX4 to carry your two 17 foot kayaks.
You would also need a trailer hitch for the vehicle, # 60873 comes with a ball mount, pin, and clip. You will need a ball also, # 19258.
