Comparing the Reese Titan and Curt A16 Slider 5th Wheel Hitches for a 2017 Ram 2500 Short Bed

Hey, I just bought a 2017 Ram 2500 6foot4inch bed without the factory rails. I has the overload springs. I plan to tow a 5th wheel and am comparing the Curt A16 and Reese Titan 16K slider models among the models I was presented on your website for the year and make of my vehicle. But when I click on the Reese Titan I get a message it is not compatible with my truck. Is it or is it not? Which of these hitches would you recommend? Are there others you would recommend? Thank you!

Fifth wheel trailer hitches themselves are not vehicle specific. The installation kits are. So you can use the Reese Titan 16K slider # RP30869 as long as the installation kit used is a fit for your 2017 Ram 2500 short bed. For your truck use install kit # RP50054-58.

The Curt A16 # C16521 will also work with your truck and will also fit the Reese installation kit mentioned above. Between the 2 hitches I would go with the Curt A16. It is a great value and it has 1 inch more travel than the Reese hitch. On a short bed truck every inch of clearance counts! I have linked videos on all three parts for you.

You might also be interested in adding an in-bed 7-Way connector, # 41157, to make hooking up the trailer easier and without the need for an extension. I have linked a video of it as well.
