How to Carry Bikes on a 2013 BMW M135i Hatchback
Question:
M135i / M140i are not rated for towing, but i just want to install a Tow Hitch to carry a 2 bike Kuat bike rack without any electrics. I understand the rear space to install a Tow Hitch like this one might be difficult due to the exhaust under the rear bumper. Do you know if this Tow Hitch been installed recently M135i or M140i BMW hatchback ? Im trying to avoid a roof rack, any other ideas ? Thanks !

The Curt trailer hitch # C11184 is confirmed to fit the coupe and convertible models of the BMW 135i but not the hatchback M135i or the M140i. I reached out to my Curt contact and it's just never been tested.
This leaves you with the option of a trunk mount rack or a roof rack like you said you don't really want.
The Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Trunk Mount Bike Rack # HRF2 will be the best fit for a hatchback. However, the BMW has a soft bumper and this might not be a great optoin if you're going to be carrying the bikes long distances or on a regualr basis.
In my opinion your best and only really good option is a roof rack. The Thule AeroBlade Edge is confirmed to fit your vehicle. This rack has a great look that gives it a factory installed appearance. It consists of:
Thule AeroBlade Edge # TH7602-TH7602 (silver) or # TH7602B-TH7602B (black)
Thule Podium Fit Kit # THKIT3028
Once you have a rack installed you can use a bike carrier like the Thule UpRide, part # TH599000, to carry your bikes.
