I spoke with my contact at Thule about the Sidekick Roof Mounted Cargo Carrier Box, # TH78GC, fitting on your 2010 Subaru Outback. She stated that the cargo box will fit the factory cross bars on your vehicle. You will not be able to open the sun roof with the box mounted on the roof rack. If you have a moon roof (the type that slides into the roof) it should be able to function.

She went on to state that they do not test to see if the rear hatch will open all the way with the box installed. But if your cross bars can slide, you could probably move them far enough forward if there were a clearance issue with the hatch. The box will mount to the cross bars as long as they are between 23-5/8 inches to 28 inches apart.
