The most offset for a 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter we currently offer is the Rapid Hitch # AM3139 as it provides a 8-inch offset whereas the Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5GX1216 has a 7-1/2 offset. In both these cases it will not increase the clearance for making tight turns, it's only for the distance between the back of your truck and the trailer. The pivot point will remain in the same place.

The only adapter that offers true offset is the Anderson gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter # AM3225 and offers a 5-1/4 inch offset.

To determine the clearance needed on your truck, you need to take the width of your fifth wheel and divide by two. Then measure from the gooseneck hitch ball in the truck to the back of the truck cab. That dimension should be 4 inches more than your first measurement for correct clearance.

For example, if your trailer measures 96 inches wide, take half (48 inches), then add 4 inches (52 inches). So if the measurement from the gooseneck hitch ball in the truck to the back of the truck cab is 52 inches or more, you will have enough clearance for a straight gooseneck adapter.

Let me know the year, make, model and bed length of your truck and we would be more than happy to figure a solution.

I included a couple video reviews on the 5th wheel to gooseneck adapters for you as well.
