Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed either in the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area or beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure if you are mounting it near the hitch.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

works just fine! thanks!

by:

Great product, real easy to install

by:

Great ServicePart was as described and prompt delivery

by:

Easy to install. The hardest part is routing the wires the way you want them.

by:

Product arrived quickly and does the job perfectly. I will do buisness again.

by:
2001 Dodge Durango

product works great as described, it was easy to install and i received it very quickly. thank you

by:

Excellent product, excellent price and excellent delivery. I will buy again from your company with I need another boat related product.

by:

Fast service, I ordered the product received a confirmation then within an hour and a half from the time I ordered it it had been shipped. 2 days later received and installed and it works great.

by:
1999 Dodge Grand Caravan

The purchase was what I expected, it was well packed and delivered very quickly. I would order from etrailer.com again.

by:

Was easy too install and would recommend to friends and family.. The trailer wire was long enough.

by:

Follow the instructions to the "T", step by step and installation was a breeze. The only super-minor thing would be that the flat-four lead could be a few inches (4 - 6" maybe) longer.

by:

company is great to work with, shipping was extremely fast and product is top grade. I will do business in the future with etrailer.com

by:
2003 Dodge Durango

Excellent product. Atfer watching the how to install video on your site, I was able to complete the entire installation process within 20 minutes.

by:

It was very easy to purchase this product. The description was simple to understand, and the installation video was a bonus. The order was processed quickly so the product was recieved in a good timeframe.

by:

T-Harness FitmentHarness hook-up was pretty simple, but the wires from left tail light to junction box were too short to locate inside jack storage box as directed. Need to be at least 6-12 inches longer. Barely reach inside rear "door" to attach on molded plastic trim without getting hit by "door" when it closes. Aside from that, I was very satisfied.

by:
2003 Dodge Durango

Product arrived quickly and was easy to track. Installation instructions were straightforward. Only problem was not enough slack to mount the control box where instructed.

by:
1998 Ford Edge

Just installed this on 1998 Grand Voyager. Product seems well-made, with sturdy connectors for both taillights and the trailer. The tee connectors fit the existing tail light connectors snugly and lock into place.

The instructions cover two types of installation, one each for minivan and SUV. The minivan instructions are silent on how to route the wire connecting the left- and right-side tail light connectors. I had expected to go under or through the frame, but saw no way to do this, and the instructions did not help. I finally decided just to route the wire inside the lower part of the hatch opening, around the outer edge of the weatherseal. I then pulled the slack out of it to draw it against the metal lip that holds the weatherseal. I probably will go back and drill for a few connectors to hold this wire in place. The instructions should be revised to make this aspect of the installation clear.

The installed product is working fine.

by:

Delivery was very prompt. Installed within 15 minutes! I did not want to answer the survey until I have Installed and check operation. NOW CONFIRMED.I would recommend you 5stars .installation 4.75 stars( could not find a location for the box yet) .Thank you for a good product.

Glad delivery was quick and that you had it up and running in no time Daniel! Thanks for your recommendation too :) What are you planning to tow?

by:
2000 Plymouth Voyager

Have not installed yet but it looks to be an excellent product. Quality harness will make it easy to complete my trailer hitch installation

by:
2002 Dodge Durango

instructions and videos made the installation easy.

by:

The design flaw with all harnesses is that the trailer connector is to large to fit through your automotive holes leading to the outside. An additional quick disconnect plug would solve this issue.

by:
2000 Dodge Caravan

Perfect fit and great instructions, I'm fairly mechanical and do most of my own work and with that being said, if you have the correct tools and basic knowledge and the ability to follow instructions, this is a easy project, both the wiring harness and the draw bar installation. I've bought from etrailer in the past and will continue to shop there first for my trailering needs.

  • Best Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE
I do have an option for you but the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118334 that you have will not work on your 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE. Instead, you will need to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118648. You can reference the attached install video if you need help with this. The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers part # ETBC7 can however be transferred onto your new Sienna. In order...

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2001 Dodge Durango
If your 2001 Dodge Durango does not have a 7-Way connector located at the rear of the vehicle, then it is not equipped with the factory tow package. This connector should be fairly visible and the spring-loaded cover will have "Mopar" printed on it. The tow package would have most likely also included a trailer hitch, so if you needed to install one, this is another indication that the vehicle does not have the factory tow package. To be absolutely sure, you can always visit your local...

  • Adding a Trailer Wiring Harness to a 2002 Dodge Durango to Tow a 1996 Jayco Trailer
We can get you set up to tow your Jayco trailer with the 6-Way connector. First, on your 2002 Dodge Durango, you will need to install Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118334. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you to view. The 6-Way square plug is a rarity. What I recommend is replacing the 6-Way on the trailer with a 7-Way RV style connector. It will be fairly simple. You will just need a 7-Way connector, ...

  • 7-Way Trailer Wiring for a 2000 Dodge Durango without a Factory Tow Package Connection
Since your 2000 Dodge Durango does not have the tow package wiring installed you will need to install a working 4-way connector, # 118334, first and then install a 4-way to 7-way adapter, # 37185. There is not a connection point for the factory replacement connector, # 42145, that you mentioned. If you need to install the 7-Way and need to have functionality for a brake controller and 12 volt power supply for towing you will need additional wiring and circuit breakers. • Installation of Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2002 Dodge Durango without the Factory Tow Package
Since your 2002 Dodge Durango doesn't have the factory tow package the trailer wiring harnesses install by plugging in behind both tail lights. I recommend the Tekonsha, part # 118334 for a quality 4-way connector. I've linked a video showing the install on a 2003 that's the same process as yours. The connectors that plug in under the Durango's bumper are for vehicles equipped with the tow package. If you also need a trailer hitch receier the Draw-Tite, part # 75081, is a confirmed fit.

  • Who is the Manufacturer of the Trailer Wiring Harness Part # 118334 Hopkins Harness Keeps Shorting
The manufacturer of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118334, is Tow Ready. You may get better service life from the Tow Ready wiring harness, but in my experience, converters short out due to wiring issues on the trailer. Many boat owners have trouble with converters shorting out because the tail lights short out when backing their boats into the water. The solution in this case is to unplug the trailer before launching the boat, and to leave the trailer unplugged when loading the...

  • Correct Curt Trailer Hitch for a 2003 Dodge Durango
The trailer hitch I recommend for a 2003 Dodge Durango is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13097. This hitch is a custom bolt-on fit with no drilling required. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13902 is not a good option and would require drilling but there isn't exact fits listed since it's universal. If you will be towing then you will also need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118334 which is plug and pay along with the etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900.
