This Generation III Classic Personal snowplow is the most recent innovation from SnowBear. This plow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch (sold separately) for easy, convenient mounting. It has a remote-controlled electric winch that will let you raise and lower the plow without leaving the warmth and comfort of your cab. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain. Angled trip springs are also built in to help keep the blade from catching and tripping.

Simple, Hitch-Mounted Installation

HITCH MOUNTING

This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. Unlike a plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets, which ties you down to just 1 vehicle, this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.

To install the Personal snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver . Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.

How to Plow

Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead or 22 degrees to the left or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.

To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote or the in-cab toggle switch, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the Personal snowplow.

When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.

Easy Lifting with Electric Winch

WINCH

The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using a toggle switch that mounts in your cab. You can also use the included wireless remote control. The winch uses a durable nylon strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.

This little plow has been perfect for a Jeep Wrangler. I used it all winter and it kept the driveway clear, no complaints.

2004 ChevroletSilverado

I had been waiting to find this Curt hitch on sale for a while.
First off I get to keep the hooks that came with my 2004 Silverado Crew cab 2500HD 4x4.
Then I removed two existing bolts and loosened a third on each hook.
Using a floor jack lifted the hitch into place and threaded in the new bolts through the frame and into the hooks.
The biggest problem I had was being able to reach the bolts into the side of the frame and hooks w/out removing the air dam.
Looks GREAT!!

I know some reviews have mentioned a reduction in ground clearance but my truck is not lifted and the clearance is nearly the same as the transmission skid plate installed by the factory.

I sometimes need to get low hard to see trailers into tight spaces and I’m also looking to pick up a winch. Looking forward to many years of hard work.

This has made getting trailers parked closely and out of the way at job sites so much easier. Whish I hed it years ago!

by: Dale Miles01/25/2014

Unbelievable how clean the install is for this product!! I was certain I would have to do some cutting or drilling, however not a single cut or new hole required. The product fit like it was straight from the factory ... even with the existing front Grille Guard that I have on my truck!!

I also appreciate the FAST shipping and customer service, as tracking info was emailed after the product shipped without requesting this info and the product arrived within the same week.

I've already recommended etrailer to other landscapers on lawnsite.com, as we're always looking for front-mount solutions for spreaders and other landscape equipment.

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this product!! It works perfect for mounting my walk-behind fertilizer spreader to the front of my truck while having the larger PermaGreen spreader on the back of my truck. Having this front-mounted hitch has allowed me to carry both of my spreaders and not sprain my back while wrestling the smaller spreader out of the bed of my truck as I had before.

by: Terry11/04/2021

This was possibly the easiest hitch install I've ever done! All the holes lined up, the onle thing was two of the bolts they supplied are not long enough,I had the longer bolts in stock and finished. I haul a truck camper so needed the extra cargo space, looks like it'll work!

there was 4 bolts in the kit to replace the bolts in the tow hooks, the 2 that went into the side where the ones that where too short, they where 1 3/4" I replaced them with 2 1/4" bolts. There was a gap between the hitch mount and the frame approximately 1/16" that a washer filled that gap. I'm a retired shop owner that did auto repair and fabrication so it was an easy install.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. The hitch manufacturer prefers to have the hardware that comes with the hitch be used for warranty purposes.

by: Matthew05/10/2020
2006 ChevroletSilverado

This was the easiest installation of the 10 or more hitches that I have installed. Four bolts out and replaced with four suppler bolts and washer. No modification of the air dam needed.

I needed some washers (supplied) between the frame and the receiver as spacers. I recommended that you figure out how many you need (1 or 2 per side), then lower it down and tape them in place to hold them in place and push the bolts through the tape after you lift it back in place.

Cover the ground with a rug or cardboard to keep from scratching the receiver when it’s on the ground before you lift it into place.

Still good. No corrosion or other issues.

by: Pat C.07/04/2020

I purchased the front hitch for my truck. With a fifth wheel I can’t carry bikes anywhere but the front. I really don’t trust the strength of the rear bumper on these RV’s. Hitch went on easy in the garage with no alterations needed. The bikes sit a bit high but that’s not the hitch problem....
I will also use it for other functions around the truck...push/re-locate utility trailer in tight spaces, use for a rack to haul stuff like firewood etc...when back hitch is unavailable.

by: David07/27/2022

Easy install; unobtrusive, but hitch receiver is far enough forward I can install the bike rack without needing an extension.

by: John12/20/2023

It would have been nice if the gentleman who sold me my snow plow would have told me that I needed a drop down hitch instead of a straight hitch, which makes a big difference when trying to plow.

by: Wayne10/06/2022

Great product easy installation reinforces your front end will definitely buy again for my next truck

by: Hans11/09/2013
2003 GMC Sierra

This is the second hitch I've ordered for my truck. This hitch was very easy to install on the front of my GMC Sierra and is almost unnoticeable, which I like. I use it to transport a small Honda Trail 90 motorcycle, and it's 9000lb rating is well above what I am asking it to do. It arrived via UPS several days after ordering, was in good shape, and only took ten minutes to install with only two different size socket wrenches. Highly recommend this unit for the front of any truck.

2004 GMC Sierra 3500

The 31108 Front Mount Hitch Receiver was a perfect match for my 2004 GMC Sierra 3500. I seemed well built and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. I installed the hitch in under 45 minutes and that includes prep time. No special tools required. See photo attached.

by: Bill11/17/2023

The plow works ok. It's easy enough to get on and off the vehicle. Fatal flaw is the winch strap. I have replaced 3 times in one winter of plowing. If you purchase this product be sure to order extra winch straps!

by: Chris12/22/2023

I waited 12 days for a shipment from amazon and the hitch was lost. They want to send me another hitch with a due date of January 6, 2024! You guys are the best! 2 day’s service was outstanding!!!

Wonderful very satisfied with the sales department and the quality of the product

by: Bill Schmall 06/26/2014

I would add to your instruction, if you have the factory hooks, remove the four bolts as stated and give to customer, " loosen the other two bolts on the outside of frame" this gives you a little wiggle room to start the new bolts. BUT great product and great people.

by: Doug05/16/2020

This hitch mounted to tow hooks just as described, even with existing brush guard. Needed it to haul a generator the only issue was the brush guard stuck out too far so I had to buy a 12" extender. Now every thing works as planned. Shipping was fast and customer service was great.
Thank You

The front hitch was easy to install and has been very useful. I just wished the 2006 Chevy Silverado had more clearance as far as height goes on the front end.Mine is a 4x4 but it could sure use a lift kit. The hitch is great though!

2005 ChevroletSilverado

15 minute, piece of cake single-handed install. Instructions say cutting fascia optional on 2500. Not even close to needing to. Truck is 2005 Silverado 2500HD. Receiver sits up there nice and tight, so doesn't change ground clearances.

by: Michael 12/30/2023

Works well for the price.

by: John 09/16/2023

Hitch is in excellent condition even though it tried to get out of the box.

2003 GMC Sierra

Repetitively easy to Mount and was still able to keep the factory toe hooks installed

by: Peter12/16/2022

I did not get a chance to put it on right away. Now that I have put the front hitch on , it looks great. It was harder getting the original old bolts off than it was putting on the hitch. The hitch went on quickly and now I can use it to put a plow on for these snowy Ohio winters.

As far as the fitment on your vehicle with the skid plates istalled, I checked with the supplier (Curt), they said they have not heard of any problems of them fitting with factory skid plates, but if the skid plates were a dealer installed item, which is an aftermarket item, they would not know because they do not test their fitments against aftermarket

  • Difference Between 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 Curt and Draw-Tite Front Hitches
  • The only real difference between the Curt # 31108 and Draw-Tite # 65028 front hitches for your 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 is that we've found the Curt hitches to traditionally have a little thicker of a powder coat which means they are a little better protected against the elements as well as scratches. Because of this I recommend the Curt over the Draw-Tite. Aside from that these hitches will install the exact same way and have the same weight capacities so it's just two different manufacturers

  • Availability of Front Mounted Hitch for 2006 GMC Sierra
  • The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch part # 31108 is a confirmed fit for your 2006 GMC Sierra and will provide a fit for your 2 inch hitch-mounted bike rack. I have included instructions for the proper installation of this front-mounted trailer hitch. You may find some issues with a front mounted bike rack however. Visibility may be an issue. In addition, the fully-loaded bike rack may block the head lights and/or license plate. Finally, the bikes may block airflow through the grille,

  • Comparing Curt Versus Draw-Tite Front Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
  • The Curt # 31108 and Draw-Tite # 65028 are very similar and will even install the same on your 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. They also have the same weight capacity ratings of 500lbs tongue weight, 5,000lbs trailer weight and 9,000LB line pull. The only difference worth noting is the Curt is assembled in the USA. With that said I feel like the Curt is going to have the better quality.

  • Front Mount Hitch for a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD for using a Fisher Minute Mount Plow
  • The Curt front mount hitch, part # 31108, will fit your 2002 GMC 2500. It provides a standard 2 inch receiver opening, so if that is what the Fisher plow needs, you should be set. I would double check with Fisher or the plow instructions to make sure what kind of attachment it needs. The hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 500 pounds and a gross load capacity of 5,000 pounds. I have added a link to the instructions below.

  • Will a Swagman XTC-4 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Fit a Front Mount Hitch on a 2005 Chevy Silverado
  • You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the distance required to clear the front of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 3 inches, the Swagman XTC-4, # S64665, will clear when folded up. Having 4 bikes on the front of the vehicle on this rack would extend the length of the vehicle by 45 or so inches. It will severely limit the amount of the road the driver will see especially since the rack angles up the further away from the vehicle it is. It will

  • Is Fascia Trimming Required for Front Mount Hitch Installation on the 2005 Chevy 3500
  • The directions state that Fascia trimming is optional on 2500 H.D./ 3500 models. This means that when the front mount hitch, item # 31108, is installed the bottom of the receiver tube will contact the air dam under the front bumper of your 2005 Chevrolet 3500 pickup. This contact over time will wear on the air dam, so you may decide to trim it a bit before installation of the hitch. Otherwise the hitch install is a direct bolt on installation with no drilling required. My recommendation
