Question:
Would like to attach a Swagman 4 bike carrier xtc4 to the front hitch 31108. My only concern is that the bike rack will not clear the front bumber when folded up and not in use. Is there anyway you can tell me if the extension on the hitch will project far enough out that the bike rack will be able to fold up? I would be putting this hitch on a 2005 HD 2500 CHEVY SILVERADO, DIESEL.

You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the distance required to clear the front of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 3 inches, the Swagman XTC-4, # S64665, will clear when folded up.
Having 4 bikes on the front of the vehicle on this rack would extend the length of the vehicle by 45 or so inches. It will severely limit the amount of the road the driver will see especially since the rack angles up the further away from the vehicle it is. It will also reduce airflow to the engine.
If you are towing a trailer behind the truck, there are other alternatives ranging from towing bike racks, see link, and racks designed for use on or behind a trailer, see link.
