etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2016 Cadillac SRX- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2016 Cadillac SRX. And this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Cadillac and it's got a nice clean look. A majority of the hitch is hidden behind the rear fascia, leaving just the receiver tube opening to be really visible and it does sit pretty nice against the fascia. Now that's something that you may notice is that panel that was here previous will not be able to be reinstalled because the hitch sticks out a little bit, but again, it's got a pretty clean look. Now this one is a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening and something that's specific to the Etrailer hitch is that matte black powder coat finish, which looks really nice here but with that 2 inch by 2 inch, that means you have tons of different options available, which is gonna be great for any bike racks, ball mounts, or cargo carriers that you may put on here. All of them are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip, and this is not included with the hitch, but a lot of times your accessories will come with a pin and clip, if you wanna get a locking one those are available here at Etrailer and that way if you plan on leaving your accessories on the back of your Cadillac, they can stay locked in place. more

Demco SBS Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Wire Kit Installation - 2013 Cadillac SRX- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at installing the Demco charge wire kit on a 2013 Cadillac SRX. Now normally on this installation of a charge line, this is something that you're gonna wanna do when you're installing the rest of your flat tow components, especially your diode wiring, because this ties into your six pole. So having it ready to go one time is definitely the best option. But our neighbor here has their flat tow set up, and they have a mobile braking system, and they realize that, well, the car has to stay in accessory mode so it's gonna drain the battery, because it uses the 12 volt power. So in order to make sure they don't have to start their vehicle to get the battery charged back up, the charge line's gonna be the best option. This is gonna pull that 12 volt power from the seven pole on the RV, and make its way to the sixth pole. more

Demco Classic Base Plate Kit Installation - 2013 Cadillac SRX- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2013 Cadillac SRX and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Demco base plate. Your base plate is going to be one of the main five components that you're going to need in order to flat tow your vehicle. So first off, obviously you'll have your base plate and you'll have your tow bar, your safety change, your diode wiring, and then a braking system. Now what this base plate's gonna allow you to do is it will allow you to flat tow your vehicle behind your motor home. The Demco base plates will fit directly into the Demco tow bars. more

Demco Commander Victory Series Tow Bar Review - 2013 Cadillac SRX- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2013 Cadillac SRX, and we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how the Demco Commander 2 interacts with it. The Demco Commander is going to be a great way to flat tow your vehicle behind your motor home. I'd say the best part about this tow bar is going to be that it has these non-binding switches here. So if you're parked on an uneven surface or something like that and you're trying to unhook your vehicle, the older versions of the binding tow bars you have to get out a tool and push a button. You have to pry to push this button to release this arm when it's locked in the outward position, but with these, you just simply pull this lever it'll pop this arm loose and you can take it all apart. more

Adding diode wiring to your vehicle is gonna allow you to get the functions from your motor home to the taillights on your towed vehicle. There's a couple of different ways that you can go about this. Diode wiring is my favorite way to do it, but you can get magnetic lights, which are the lights that you'll see on the back of people's cars. On the SRX, you would have to mount them up here further because this is going to be a plastic part. more

And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Cadillac SRX- Video
Hi there Cadillac owners, stand your 2016 Cadillac SRX. We're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Road master diode wiring kit. These kits are available in a few different combinations, depending on the tow bar and the type of wiring that you want to use for your connection at the front, you can get it with either a four pole flat trailer connector, or you could get it where it has as a six pole connector as well. The six poles, the most common, and you can also get the cables in varying styles, whether they be a straight cable, which is what we'll be showing off. 'Cause that can slide through channels in a tow bar. There's also a coiled cables, which are ideal for tow bars that don't have any cable management, and there's hybrid cables, which have a straight and coiled section. more

etrailer Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Cadillac SRX- Video
Hey everyone, it's Colin here at etrailer and today we have a 2016 Cadillac SRX. Now it's got a two inch receiver on it and we've been testing some hitch-mounted accessories right now with the trailer's folding and tilting cargo carrier installed. I just want to go over some of the features of it with you guys and show you how it's going to interact with your Cadillac. Now, having the cargo carrier installed is really a nice accessory to add, so in any times where maybe you're taking the family on vacation, or maybe you're just taking out some buddies and you can't get all of your cargo in the cargo area of your Cadillac. Well, that's what the cargo carrier is for. You can get all the weather sensitive materials inside, and then anything else like coolers and can be hard back luggage, stuff that's going to be okay sitting outside if it happens to rain or sit in the sun.You can get on your cargo carrier, strap it down, and then you can get it with you on your trip instead of trying to put it in the middle seats, taking up a lot of space that your passengers would want to have, or just having to choose to leave some stuff behind. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Cadillac SRX- Video

Today on our 2016 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness for a factory tow package. Now typically you would have a hitch right here, but in this particular situation it's a lot easier to install your wiring first. But once your hitches in place, what you could do is attach your wiring to that hitch using a number of different brackets that are available. Or what you could even do is use your dust cap and wrap it around your safety chain openings to secure it that way.Many of our customers have questions in regards to which wiring kit to get, because there are a handful out options out there. However, if you do have the factory tow package like we do, I really like this option because it's simply just plugs right in. more

Today on our 2016 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Plug-In simple wiring harness for factory tow packages. Now right off the bat, first thing I do want to point out is that typically you would have your hitch right here already in place. But since this wiring is so much more convenient and easier to install with the hitch removed, it's a good idea to put this in first. However, once you have it in, your hitch can easily be put in place, and then you'd be able to mount your wiring to your hitch using some brackets that are available here at Etrailer. Or what you could even do is use your dulce cap, wrap it around the safety chain loop on your hitch and secure it that way. more

Since it is a class III hitch it's going to have some pretty impressive weight capacities for towing, and since it's a 2-inch by 2-inch opening the amount of accessories available are pretty much endless.Our hitch is going to have a reinforced collar for extra strength and it is going to have the standard size 5/8 pin hole. Now keep in mind, a pin and clip does not come included. Malone Roof Rack Review - 2014 Cadillac SRX- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2014 Cadillac SRX, we're gonna be test fitting the Malone steel top roof rack system consisting of part number MPG202, and that does include both bars. These bars are 58 inches long, and this install will also apply to MPG201, which are the 50 inch crossbars, as well. This is a great, sturdy roof rack system that can carry a wide variety of accessories ranging from bike racks, to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes. These are square bars, so they will make noise while you travel, although there are fairings that you can purchase at etrailer.com to attach to the bars that act as kind of a wind deflector and will quiet down that ride as you drive.While these are square bars, you cannot you T-track accessories with this, but anything that can clamp or strap around the bars is fair game. These are designed to attach to your factory raised side rails and they clamp around from both sides, tightening into place, and on the end caps here, they do come with keys and locks to help secure this to your vehicle once it's installed.How we got the front bars in position, we picked a spot up at the front here and measured back to the front of our tower here on both sides, and then tightened it down. Thule Roof Rack Review - 2014 Cadillac SRX- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2014 Cadillac SRX, we're gonna be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Edge roof rack system. This is gonna consist of part numbers TH7503-TH7503, and those are the AeroBldade Edge cross bars. These also come in black as part number TH7503B-TH7503B.This is a great roof rack system that can carry a wide variety of accessories. Ranging from bike racks to cargo baskets, or to cargo boxes. We can also carry ski and snowboard carriers as well as kayak carriers. They have a nice factory style look thanks to this flush mount design of these racks and how it wraps around your factory raised side rails.The bars themselves have a nice aerodynamic shape to them and that's gonna help cut down wind noise and drag while you drive, and make a little bit of a quieter ride. more

Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2014 Cadillac SRX- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Cadillac SRX we are going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system consisting of part numbers RRVA 118b-2. These are the vortex aero crossbars 46 inches long. These also come in silver, part number RRVA 118s-2.To hold them in place we have the SX series legs for the factory raised side rails. Meaning, this is the style that clamps on both sides and holds them in place on your factory raised side rails.This is a great roof rack system that can carry a wide variety of accessories ranging from bike racks to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes. It has a nice air dynamic shape to it, with this elliptical shape and that's going to help cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive.Removing our end cap here, we do have a plastic lock that its in place and it does come with a tool to loosen it up. You can see that we can utilize T-track accessories with this by removing the strip, placing in your T-track accessories and then cutting the strip to length around it.Also at the end caps here, these plastic locks can be removed and replaced with a regular lock that you can find on etrailer.com to secure both your roof rack to your factory raised side rails but as well to secure your T-track accessories as well since they can't remove them without removing the end cap.The SX series leg, as I said, clamps around both sides of our factory raised side rail, and where it does make contact there's sufficient patting to make sure that there's no scratches or abrasions while you're installing it.How we got our first bar in position, we picked a spot at the front here and just measured back on the same distance, both sides, to make sure that it was even. more

Part number HM11141475.Here's what our wiring gonna look like once we have it installed. It is gonna provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector for all our lights, like our turn signals, our brake lights, and our tail lights. Our wiring is designed to say on the outside of the car, which means it's gonna be right next to our hitch whenever we get ready to hook up. Now, if you want a more permanent attachment point, you can pick up a bracket on etrailer.com so we can mount it right to our hitch.As far as installation goes, it's gonna be extremely simple. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Cadillac SRX 56096- Video
Speaker 1: Today, in our 2012 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at the CURT vehicle wiring harness for four pole flat trailer connector part number 56096.So here's what our CURT wiring's going to look like once we have it installed. It is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times, and it's going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector for our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake signals. If you want more of a permanent mounting solution for your wiring, we have brackets available at etrailer.com that'll mount directly to your hitch.As far as installation goes, our wiring is going to be extremely easy. We're going to have a factory connector that we're going to plug directly into, which is going to be right behind the bumper, right here in the center. And CURT did put a nice loom around the wire, so it's going to protect it and kind of hide that color a little bit, so we don't have such bright wires in the back of our car.So now that you've seen what our wiring looks like, let's show you how to get it installed.Now we already have our hitch installed on our SRX, but if you don't, there's going to be a panel that's going to be right here, and we're going to need to remove two Phillips head screws in order to get to our wiring.Now the wiring harness itself that we're going to be plugging into, is going to be right behind the bumper, right above where our hitch is. Our wiring harness is going to be directly in the center, and most likely, it's going to have a clip holding it to the frame, but if we reach up there, we can grab it and pull it down, making it a lot easier to work with.The connector we're going to be looking for is a gray cap and four plugs on the very end of it. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Malone AirFlow Two Roof Rack System, part number MPG216.Our Malone Roof Rack System is going to free up a lot of space in our vehicle, allowing us to mount all of our gear on top of our car freeing up space inside for passengers and pets. It's going to allow us to mount a bike rack, cargo basket or even a lot of larger equipment like a kayak carrier. The elliptical shape of the bars is going to cut down on a lot of that wind noise and drag that's commonly associated with roof rack systems.The bars themselves are going to have an aluminum construction, so they're going to be nice and strong as well as rustproof. It's going to have a weather stripping on the bottom that we're going to need to cut to length. That's also going to help cut down on that wind noise when we're driving down the road, as well as having a nice rubber strip on top that's going to give it a nice secure grip whenever we mount our accessories.Now, unlike a lot of roof rack systems, the end caps are going to be hinged, so we can actually mount all of our favorite T-track accessories without having to remove the end cap. In some cases, we'll be able to just push down on that rubber strip and slide in our T-track accessory.Now, the feet are going to feature a nice rubber surround, so we're not going to have to worry about any scratches or abrasions on our factory rails, as well as having a locking core. more

This is going to include bike racks, cargo boxes, cargo baskets, and ski and snowboard carriers. The end caps on our crossbars are lockable, and come with a key to lock those up. Now this is a plastic core, you can find metal lock cores available on our website with part number RRBA-LEC4 to change those to the metal lock cores.If we remove our end cap you can see the weather strip on the inside. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Cadillac SRX- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CURT T-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 56096. So here's what our wiring looks like when it's fully installed. We do have the factory plug right behind the bumper here, and it is going to stay on the outside at all times. Now, it provides us with a 4-pole flat trailer connector, which is going to give us all the required lights to get down the road safely and legally, such as our clearance lights, turn signals, and stop lights. Now that we see what it looks like in the end result, let's show you how we put it on.To begin our installation, we're going to come to the back of our vehicle and we're going to remove this center panel right here. Now, we're going to have two fasteners holding it in place, and we're going to be using a Phillips head screwdriver bit to take them out. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Cadillac SRX - Draw-Tite- Video
Narrator: Today on our 2010 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class Three Custom Fit Trailer Receiver, part number 75682.So, here's where our hitch looks like fully installed. It is going to tuck up behind our bumper, but we are going to have a slight bit of the cross tube sticking out right here. Now it is a Class Three, which means it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, and as you can see, it has a rainforest collar, not only getting added strength, but a nice clean, finished look.Our hitch is going to use a standard five ace pinning clip, and that's that's going to be the hole towards the front of the vehicle. The pinning clip aren't included, but you can pick one up on our website using part number PC3. Now, the second hole towards the back of our receiver, that's going to be for the J-Pin Stabilization Device. That's going to be great if any of your accessories don't have a built in anti-rattle.As far as the safety chain connections, it's going to be a plate-style welded to the bottom, and as you can see, we're not going to have any trouble getting most sized hooks on or off. more

Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX, we'll be doing a test fit on the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains, part number TC2323, and that's tire size 235/65/R18. These Titan chains are SAE Class S chains. They're designed for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance. They feature a diamond pattern rather than a ladder pattern, so it's going to give you more tire coverage, which is going to give you more traction on snow and ice. The small square links are going to limit jarring and provide a smooth ride. The integrated tensioner allows you to control the fit of your tire chain. No rubber adjuster is needed here, and it's going to make installation very easy. They have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Cadillac SRX - Curt- Video
Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C13002. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's pretty close to flush with the rear bumper here, so that maintains a nice clean look, but it doesn't stick out too far to where you may knock your knee on it. It's got the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. It's got the nice looking reinforcement collar that helps it look nice and durable. Here we've got these loop style safety chain connection points which is going to give us plenty of room in order to get whatever type of safety chains we may have connected. Overall, this hitch is pretty well hidden as the cross tube, you can just kind of see it right here, but because it's tucked up behind the bumper like that, it maintains a really clean look to where it doesn't look like it's out of place. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2012 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2012 Cadillac SRX, we'll be installing a Blue Ox base plate kit with removable arms, part number BX1690. The base plate will connect to your tow bars and allow it to be pulled down the road with your RV. Hardly anything sticks out at all. When we want to actually hook up, we take our removable arms, we stick them in horizontally with this tab. Push it in and rotate it and it holds it in place. It's the same on the other side. more

Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Cadillac SRX- Video
Today on our 2016 Cadillac SRX we'll be installing the Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit with 4 diodes, part number BX8848. In addition to the large spool of 4-pole, flat trailer wiring, here's what the rest of the kit consists of. Obviously, we have our 4-diode packs here to make our connections for our tail lights, our turn signals, and brakes. It will work by having the wires for the tow vehicle go in, the factor wiring go in, and then out towards the light itself, so it will utilize the factory lighting on the vehicle. We have an additional ground cable extension here, a self-tapping screw and a ring terminal to ground the wiring out to the body of the vehicle. We have a butt connector here to make our connections. Additionally, we have an extension cable here for the tail light going over to the right side of the vehicle, the right turn signal, and brake light. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Cadillac SRX - Curt- Video
Today on our 2013 Cadillac SRX, we'll be installing the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12070. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's a very concealed look, almost tucks up completely back behind the bumper. It's a very factory-like appearance here. You don't have anything sticking out that you're going to run against while you're to the back of your hatch to load stuff into your vehicle. It has a nice high-gloss black powder-coat finish. It's going to have a durable finish for many years down the road, won't rust or corrode for a very long time. Has a 3,500-pound max trailer weight rating, and a 350-pound max tongue weight rating. more
