EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Ford Fusion- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Eco Hitch trailer hitch receiver on a 2016 Ford Fusion. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Fusion, and the great part is this is a hidden cross-tube, so all that you're gonna see is the two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening, and even the safety chain loops are nice and tidy here, so it gives it a pretty clean look while still being able to use a two-inch by two-inch, which is kind of the standard size for hitches. So when it comes to bike racks, cargo carriers, or even ball mounts, you're gonna have tons of options to be able to load up on your Fusion. Now all of those accessories are gonna stay in place with a 5/8th pin and clip, and this is not included with the hitch. A lot of times, when you pick up accessories, they'll have one included, so something to look for if you're also choosing accessories. And if you want a locking pin and clip, those are really nice, too, if you plan on leaving your accessories on the vehicle, that way you can lock it in place and no one can just walk away with whatever you have loaded up. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Invisibrake, Braking System on a 2019 Ford Fusion. In plateauing your vehicle, there's gonna be five main components that are gonna be required. The first one on the vehicle side is gonna be the base plate, and that attaches to the frame of the vehicle creating a solid mounting point to attach to your tow bar. That's gonna be your second component which is gonna be your connection point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now your baseplate will have loops for your safety chain loops, which is gonna be your next component. And just in case of an accidental disconnect it's a solid, nice, secure way to keep that attached. more

Now choosing tow bars is a kind of a interesting choice because there's a lot of 'em out there and a lot of 'em seem to do all the same things. And really it comes down to price point on a lot of 'em. But something I'll point out that I always recommend when choosing a tow bar is getting one that's non-binding. And what that simply means is you don't have to be on perfectly level ground to unhook your vehicle. And if you've ever had a binding tow bar, once it's locked it is very tough to get that to release. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One trailer wiring harness here on our 2016 Ford Fusion. So what is a trailer wiring harness Now in regards to towing a trailer, there's a couple of required components. We're obviously going to need the trailer hitch as well as the ball mount/hitch ball. We will also need a way to transmit the lighting signals from our vehicle to the trailer. In order to do that, that's where our trailer wiring harness is gonna come into play. So this trailer wiring harness option from Tekonsha is gonna provide us with the most basic style of connector because there are a couple of different options on the market, but most of the smaller trailers we're gonna be towing with this vehicle are almost always gonna have that standard 4-pole flat, which is what this harness provides. more

Connor: Hey guys, Connor here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness here for our 2020 Ford Fusion. So our T1 wiring harness here is going to provide us with the most basic trailer lighting functions. These functions include four pins, we're going to have one for the ground, we're going to have one for the running light circuit, we're going to have one each for our stop and turn signal circuits.We are towing what our Fusion here. We have a trailer, it's definitely probably going to have lights so we're going to be able to activate those signals and remain legal while we're driving down the highway. So as you can see here the way this harness is initially designed is we're going to have the four-pole connector routed out through the trunk here. more

As we can see, this is what the Curt Trailer Hitch looks like installed on our Fusion. Has a one and a quarter inch receiver tube opening, which is going to allow us to do quite a bit of different things, such as towing a trailer. Or we could use a bike rack or cargo carrier, if we want to hit the trails or free up some space inside the vehicle. Our Curt Trailer Hitch here has a class two rating, which is going to provide us with a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

The other five are going to include a base plate, diode wiring, safety cables, a braking system and a brake light relay.Now our tow bar is going to provide us with a reliable and secure connection point to connect our motor home to our Fusion when we're flat towing it. And one of my favorite things about this particular tow bar is that it's going to have these integrated channels. Now these are going to be used to run our safety cables and our electrical cable through it and that'll help clean everything up and help prevent our cables from dragging on the ground.Now this tow bar is non-binding so what that means if you we're to happen to be on an uneven surface and you needed to disconnect your tow bar, sometimes they get in a bind and you can't even move it. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit. Well, our brake light relay is going to be one of six main components needed to flat tow our Ford Fusion. The other five are going to be the base plate, our diode wiring, our braking system, safety cables, and a tow bar.Now, the reason you're going to need a brake light relay, is that when you're flat towing your Fusion behind your motorhome and you turn the motorhome's blinker on, the blinker back here will flash normally, unless you happen to hit the brakes inside of your motorhome at the same time. Then what's going to happen is back here, the brakes are going to override our turn signals, and then other motorists won't know if we're turning or stopping.Now the way that relay is going to work, is that it's going to tap into your brake pedal position sensor wire, and it's going to separate those circuits. Now installation is going to be relatively simple, we're only going to be working with a handful of wires to get the job done. more

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna be going over how I installed the Roadmaster battery charging line kit on our 2014 Ford Fusion. It's gonna allow us to charge our battery while we flat towing the vehicle because our braking system requires a power source to work. Your kit's gonna come with one single red wire and a breaker. First you need to mount your breaker, I mounted mine here which is close to the positive side for my battery. You're gonna take your wire, you're gonna extend it from the center post on your six pole plug on the front of the vehicle to the copper wire. more
