Hi there Volkswagen owners, today in our 2019 Volkswagen Golf R we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install EcoHitch's Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver. And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The majority of the hitch is gonna be completely hidden behind the bumper, so you're just gonna see the receiver here at the back. The EcoHitches are made of recycled metal, so if you're looking to reduce your carbon footprint, this can be one of the best options for that. It does have a textured black powder coat finish on it, so it does blend in with the vehicle. With this particular one, since it's glossy down here, it does stand out a little bit, but it does kind of match as far as the depth of the black is fairly similar. more

Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver here on a 2019 Volkswagen Golf. So this is what our trailer hitch looks like installed. As you can see here from the parts we can see, we're going to have a nice durable black powder-coated finish which is going to help it blend in with the vehicle and it's also going to help protect it from rust and corrosion. EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Volkswagen Golf, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how install the EcoHitch Class 3 Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 306-X7309. The unique thing about this one is that it's going to be the only class 3 hitch available for our Golf. It's going to give us that 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, opening up a lot more options when it comes to accessories. Another nice thing about our hitch is the fact that the cross tube is going to be completely hidden behind the bumper, and all we're going to see is the receiver tube right below.Now, the way we're going to mount any of our accessories is to through hitch pin hole here on the side, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8" pin and clip. Now, these are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com. As far as the safety chain connection points go, they're going to be a plate style welded to the bottom. more

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Volkswagen Golf 306-X7310- Video

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Volkswagen Golf, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the EcoHitch hidden class 2 trailer hitch receiver, part number 306-X7310.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, without a rear fascia installed, this hitch is completely hidden behind the fascia and it attaches very simply behind our bumper beam, utilizing existing weld nuts in the frame and existing holes. So there's no drilling required.So if you want to put a hitch on your Golf, your Golf GTI and still have the sporty appearance, but yet not have a very visible hitch, this is a great option for you. On the side of our receiver, you'll find our industry standard half inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of your hitch mounted accessories. On the bottom here is our plate style safety chain loops. And what's great about these, that even though this is a inch and a quarter hitch with small loops on it, we can still easily clip on and remove a large diameter safety chain hook such as this one. more

Our Kuat transfer 2 is gonna be a 2-bike platform rack that's gonna have a lot of features that are gonna come in handy.I know a lot of times, we'll have our bikes loaded up and we're either getting ready to leave or getting ready to go out riding our bikes and we forget something in the back hatch. So, instead of taking all the bikes off and having to deal with all that hassle, if we come to the foot lever here, we can push down and with our bike still loaded, we can tilt the rack away from our car and we'll be able to get into our hatch and get anything in or out that we may need. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today in our 2017 Volkswagen Golf we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with Four-pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C59236. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. Now our wiring is designed to be stored inside our vehicle when it's not in use. One of the reasons you're gonna want this converter style that you have to splice in over other options available on the market is many Volkswagen Golf's on the market use poles with modulated wiring in their tail light systems, which are not compatible with many plug-and-play options. Now we'll show you how to get it installed. To begin our install we'll open our rear hatch. Now we'll take out all of our floor coverings. And to make it easier to see, we'll take out our cargo cover here. more

Thule Roof Box Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today in our 2015 Volkswagon Golf, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Force large rooftop cargo box, part number TH628. We already have it on top of our vehicle, however when you do lift this up, you want at least a second set of hands to help you put it into place, and you want to make sure that the quick-grip clamps are lined up with your crossbars. Since this cargo box can open from either side, you pretty much want to put it more towards the areas where you're going to be loading in things the most. For this instance, we have it closer to the passenger's side, but you can also put it more towards the driver's side. Or, you can center it up if you want to. With the box lined up pretty much where we want it to be, we'll go and get it open. First, you're going to need a key to get this to open. Turn it to the unlock position. more

WeatherTech 2nd Row Rear Floor Mats Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today in our 2015 Volkswagen Golf we're going to be taking a look at the WeatherTech second row floor mats in black, part number WT444962. Also available in grey, part number WT464962, and in tan, part number WT454962. What I really like about these WeatherTech floor mats is that they give you much greater coverage then the factory floor mats do because not only do they cover more of the floor but they also cover up the sides a little bit with that nice raised lip to help keep everything on that floor mat. It makes the car much easier to clean. Here we've got our factory floor mats installed in the rear of the Golf. As you can see there's dirt and debris that's collecting on them, but also if we look off to the side there's dirt and debris that's sneaking off and getting into the carpet around our factory floor mat. Let's take that out. Over here on the passenger side you can see we've got that exact same thing going on, dirt and debris on the mat, but also getting off to the sides. Let's slide our WeatherTechs up into place there. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Volkswagen Golf - Curt- Video

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf we're going to be taking a look at the and installing the CURT class one trailer hitch receiver, part number C11412. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, the crosstube is visible all the way across here, but with how it matches up with the body lines on the vehicle it still maintains a very clean look. It features a 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube opening with this nice reinforcement collar that's welded on around it to give it a nice durable, clean look. It's got a 1/2" hitch pinhole in order to secure all of the class one accessories. Has the welded-on plate-style safety chain connection points and nice large diameter holes in order to get those connected. With where this hitch comes out you should have plenty of space for most class one hitch-mounted accessories that you may want to use with this and not have to worry about very many of them being too close to the rear of the vehicle to be able to use. more

This is going to make it easier for installing 2 bikes to give you a little bit of adjustability there. It grabs the bike at 3 points. We have 2 straps up at the top too, 1 off to the side here, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike in front of it. more

Yakima JetStream Crossbars Installation - 2016 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we're going to be test-fitting the Yakima Roof Rack. It's going to include the jet stream, 50" crossbars, part #Y00425. The baseline towers, part #Y00146 The baseline clips for the front, part #Y06123. The clips for the rear, part #Y06125. To start our installation, we're going to take the end cap off of our bar. We already removed this rubber strip, the filler strip, on the bottom side. We're going to take our tower, we're going to slide in to the bottom of our rail, we're going to slide it in. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Male: Today on our 2011 Golf TDI, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the WeatherTech lamp guards. These are clear lens protectors, part number is WTH2014VW. This kit is going to come with three lens protectors for each side of the vehicle. One for the mirror mounted blinker, one for the headlights and one for the fog lights. The first thing we need to do is mix up some application solution. This is going to be one part of isopropyl or rubbing alcohol to three parts of water. more

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we will be doing a test fit of the Yakima Q Tower roof rack system. For your round bar here, it's going to be part number Y00408. You also have your Q Towers, which is going to be part number Y00124, as well as two sets of foot packs. You will have your Y00664s, which in this case, is going to be for our back bar, and on the vehicle right now, we have our Y00663. Which, the only difference is that your bars are going to be a little bit shorter on the front than they are on the back for the Q clips here. We'll go ahead and go through how to get everything assembled. We will be using a few different tools, as well. more

Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Saris Freedom Super Clamp. This is going to be your platform styled 2 bike rack, part number SA4025. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here, you can see what it's going to look like. Once you have it fully assemble with the bike in place on the back of your vehicle. This bike rack does come with your inch and quarter shank as well as the 2 inch adapter. We'll fit your class one, 2 and 3 receivers. Note also that on the bottom side where your shank is connected to your receiver, you're going to have a 3 quarter inch anti-ratible, that's going to help to reduce a lot of the sway, rattle and wobble that you would normally have. more

This rack does come with an inch and a quarter shank, as well as a 2 inch adapter. It will fit your class 1, 2, and 3 receivers. We have it in a class 1 today, attached using a 3/4 inch anti-rattle bolt to help reduce the sway, rattle, and wobble. more

Surco Products Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI we're going to be doing a test fit of the Surco cargo carrier. Now this Surco cargo carrier is going to be part number 52017. As you can see, it's going to fit snugly on this 1-1/4" class one receiver that we have here today. It's going to have that nice expanded metal base for easy cleanability, as well as that sturdy steel construction with a 300 pound weight capacity. It does attach to our receiver using a hitch pin and clip. That hitch pin and clip will not be included, so if you'd like to get one you can get it on our website, part number PC2. Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we'll be doing a test fit of the Yakima Fat Cat. This is going to be your roof rack mounted ski and snowboard carrier that hold 6 skis or 4 snowboards. It will be part number Y03088. As you can see we've already got one fitted onto to the vehicle onto our Yakima Round Bars. Now we'll go ahead and mount the other one up. Make sure that your clamps are undone, they just simply fold up and under, they go right up into the grooves, you'll see the 2 sides there, they go right up into the grooves and then it will simply close up. more

It has 14 cubic feet of storage space on the inside of it and it comes in your black finish, with your sturdy plastic construction. We're going to go ahead and put it up on the vehicle and it's going to be part number Y07192. Actually, let me put it up the other way here, that way I can show you how to do it. All right, once you've got it to this point here, you're going to want to make sure that your feet and clamps are open here. Then we will simply sit it down and then we're going to slide it back and that will push those clamps up over where we want them to be, right there. Now let's see if we've got it centered or if that's where we want it. more

Whispbar Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we will be doing a test fit of the Whispbar Roof Rack Mounted Ski and Snowboard Carrier. It's going to be part number WB-300. As you can see, we've already got one up here mounted on our vehicle, and we're going to show you how to mount the other one on. We'll make sure that our straps are undone on both sides, and that the inside wingnuts that you see here are loose. Let's go ahead and place it up there. Then, we'll go ahead and bring the strap around. You can use the red knob to loosen and tighten it by simply spinning it either direction. We're going to bring it up and clip it on. more

Today on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI we will be doing a test fit of the Yakima RocketBox. This is going to be your Pro 11. It has 11 feet of cubic storage space on the inside, and it will be part number Y07193. We'll go ahead and turn it around and get it put up on the vehicle. Couple things I want to point out once we do get it up here, is that you're going to want to make sure that all your feet are opened up underneath. Once that you have it where you want it, go ahead and set it down. Then we'll adjust it by sliding it backwards. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video

Today, on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we'll be doing a test fit of the Swagman trail head. This will your hanging style four bike rack, for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. It's going to be part number S63380. With this class 1 receiver that we have here today, which is 1-1/4", it's only going to be able to hold a max capacity of two bikes on this four bike rack. Let's go ahead and plug it into our receiver that we have here. Once you get it inserted, let's go ahead and line up our pinholes and insert our anti-rattle bolt. This anti-rattle bolt's going to help to eliminate a lot of the sway, rattle, and wobble that we may have in our bike carrier. more
