A common problem and the problem customers always ask us for a solution for when hauling a trailer, is when you have to lean way up to look in your mirror and see what your trailer's doing. Basic solution for that's going to be either a universal or custom type towing mirror. What we're going to look at today is a universal towing mirror, it's designed to fit many different vehicles and applications.Basically what we're looking for is a mirror that's going to be seven to 10 inches tall, so it's going to be the larger GM mirrors like this, or a lot of the vans that are coming out now have the larger kind of more rectangular mirrors. This is going to give us a second full size mirror. We're looking at four inches by seven inches. more

One of the big questions we get asked in regards to the universal fit mirrors is if they're going to make a bunch of noise rattle or vibrate, especially at higher speeds. Well, this one does fit nice and tight against the factory mirror. And if you kind of shake it around a little bit, it moves pretty much with that factory mirror. So I really don't see that being an issue, at least not enough to bother you. more

There's no need to worry about damage happening to our existing mirrors. We have these nice, soft, yet durable, rubber straps. So it's going to give a good grip, but not scuff up the finish on our mirrors. We're going to get a rather large mirror and it's going to be a flat mirror, so it's not going to be concaved or convexed and we are going to be able to tilt it right, left, up and down. more

These are available either as a quantity of one, or you can purchase them as a kit with two so you can have one for each side. As you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I can clearly be seen in our universal towing mirror. So this is a universal fit towing mirror, which means that you're gonna have to get the right fit on your 4Runner. Right off the bat, I've tried a bunch of different towing mirrors on our 4Runner, and this really isn't the best fit. I would still recommend it if you're mainly using another vehicle as your towing vehicle and you just need to use this on the 4Runner every now and then. So I'll show you the process to get the best fit you can. more
