How to Install the CIPA Clip-On Universal Fit Towing Mirrors on a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe

How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirror, which is also sold as a pair. Towing mirrors are really going to help enhance our field of view whenever we're pulling a trailer, and that's going to be especially useful in those situations, whenever we're trying to make a lane change, backing up into a tight parking spot, we're just wanting to keep a better eye on what's going on behind us. So for an example, as you can see, I'm visible on the towing mirror and not in our factory mirror. And that's just how much more you're going to be able to see. But if I take a few steps closer to our trailer, I'll disappear out of that towing mirror and become visible in our factory mirror. And that's really going to help eliminate any of those blind spots too.

Now, one of the biggest differences I noticed about this towing mirror in comparison to some of the others, is a clarity of our lens, our picture's going to be really sharp and you're going to be able to see what's going on really good. Now, one of the biggest questions we get in regards to universal fit towing mirrors, is if they're going to rattle or make any noise, especially at high speeds. Well, to be honest with you, this one fits nice and snug on our mirror. There's really no movement on the mirror itself, a little bit here at the end, but I don't really see that being an issue, at least not enough to bother you. Now, we're going to have two straps that actually secure our towing mirror to the factory mirror, they are made of a soft rubber material. So not only are they going to help grip really good, but you're not going to have to worry about them scratching up your car's finish.

Now with the towing mirror in place, we are still going to have pretty much full adjustability of our factory mirror. At the ends of the sweeps, there's going to be a little bit of contact. However, we're still going to be able to maintain those typical sweet spots that we would normally use. We're also going to have complete adjustability of our towing mirror, to be able to move it up and down, side to side. And what you can do is even loosen up the knob on the back and rotate it a full 360 degrees.

Now, if you find yourself in a tight spot and need to free up some space and fold your mirror in, it can come in a little bit. However, if you try to do it all the way, it will interfere with your door, but it's really not that big of a deal to take off because it's so easy to do. Speaking of which, let's go ahead and do that together now. To put your mirror on, the first thing you're going to do is take the snob and loosen it up, that way our arms will have some adjustability. We can take it and push it flat against our factory mirror. Find a good spot where we want it and hold it in place, and then we can come around to the other side.

We'll simply just take our straps and these buckles here, and stretch them out over the tabs on the top of our towing mirror. And if you come back to the knob, go ahead and tighten that down. And if you have another one, just repeat that same process on the other side. And that'll finish up our look at and our installation of the CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirror on our 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe.
