Today we'll be reviewing part number AMSC8. This is a Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount for 2 Inch Hitches. The cushioned ball mount is there to protect a towed vehicle's drive line and hitch assembly as well as the trailer's contents. There's a polyurethane interior that acts as a shock absorber, reducing the balance and vibration that a regular ball mount may have. This does function as a rise or drop to help ensure a more level tow for your application. It has a really nice powder coated finish over top of the steel which is going to really help it stand up well against rust and corrosion. more

Now to begin well go ahead and get our hitch height measurement. To do this well measure from the ground to the inside top edge of the receiver tube opening. Our hitch height for this vehicle is 19 1/4 inches. Keep in mind that your measurement can vary due to hitch styles, tire sizes, or any other accessory that may affect your vehicles ride height. Now we can go ahead and slide the shank of our ball mount into our hitch, line up the pin hole, and install our hitch pin and clip. more

Now, to begin, we'll need to get out hitch height measurement. To do this, we'll measure from the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground. On this truck that measurement is 19 inches. Now, keep in mind that measurement can vary due to hitch style, tire size, or any other accessory that may affect your vehicle's right height, so it's a good idea to measure yours. We'll now simply slide the shank of our ball mount into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and install our hitch pin. more

Before we begin our test fit we're first going to get the hitch height of our Suburban. The hitch height is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. We'll get a hitch height of about 24 1/2". Keep in mind this measurement may vary due to tire size, hitch style, or aftermarket accessories. We'll begin our test fit in the drop position by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pinholes we'll insert our pin through the pinholes and then secure it with the clip on the other side. more

Now before we begin our test fit we'll first need to obtain the hitch height of our vehicle. This is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube where we'll get a measurement of 24 inches.To begin our test fit, in the drop position we'll slide the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch, insert our pin through our pin holes and secure the clip on the other side. We'll then measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and we'll get a measurement of 16 inches. We'll then flip the ball mount over into the rise position and measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and we'll get a measurement of 31 inches.When choosing a ball mount for your trailer youll first need to measure your trailer's ride height. This is the measurement from the ground to the bottom of the coupler when your trailer's level. more

We'll first want to get our hitch height, this is going to be the measurement from the ground to the end side of the upper edge of our receiver tube. As you can see here, our measurement's about 20 1/4". To install our ball mount we'll slide the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, slide through our pin and secure it with our clip. As you can see with it in the drop position our ball platform's about 12 1/4" above the ground. If this matches your trailer's coupler height this would be a good fit for you. We'll now flip it into the rise position. more

Now to begin our test fit in the drop position we'll simply slide the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch and secure the ball mount to the hitch with a pin and clip.We'll now measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and we'll get a measurement of about 14 inches. If the hitch height of your vehicle matches the hitch height of our vehicle and your trailer ride height which is the measurement from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler while it is level matches this measurement this will be an appropriate ball mount for you.We'll now flip the ball mount over to the rise position and again measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and we'll get a measurement of about 28-1/2 inches. more

Now our vehicle is equipped with a two and a half inch hitch so we'll be using the Blue Ox Hitch Reducer Sleeve for a two and half inch to a two inch hitch. Before we begin our test fit we'll need to get the hitch height of our pickup truck. With the adapter already inserted into the hitch we have about a 24 inch hitch height. Keep in mind this measurement may vary due to tire size, hitch style, or after market accessories. We'll now begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount in the drop position into the hitch reducer sleeve. We'll line up the two pin holes and then continue to slide the sleeve back into the hitch. more

We'll now take our ball mount and install it in the drop position. We'll slide the shank of our ball mount into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up our pin hole, and install our pin and clip. We'll now take a measurement from the ground to the top of our ball platform. We have a measurement of about 11 inches. When measuring your trailer height you want to measure it when your trailer is level. You'll measure from the ground to the bottom of your coupler. If your measurement matches ours, then this would be a good fit for you. We'll flip it over to the rise position, and we now have a measurement of 25-3/4 inches. Again, if your measurement matches ours, this would be a good fit for you.
