So for first impressions on this hitch on our Crosstrek, I really like this one. It looks pretty good on there. You don't see a lot of the cross tube, but you will see just a little bit of it hanging down. Most of the thing you're gonna see is just your receiver down here hanging out. Other than that, another nice thing about it is, it's gonna have a really good gloss finish on it. more

The Subaru Crosstrek is a vehicle designed for getting out and actually doing something in nature, and the best way to do that is to have a trailer hitch on the back of your Subaru, so that way you can actually haul all that gear, and fun accessories that you need to enjoy yourself while you're out. This hitch does have a two inch by two inch hitch receiver opening, which will accommodate most of your accessories, like bike racks, cargo carriers, or even ball mounts; Sticks out a little bit, almost actually flush with your bumper. And the cross tube is semi-visible, but it is almost tucked up back there. Now, the gross trailer weight on this hitch is gonna be 4,500 pounds, that is your trailer plus whichever is inside of it. And your tongue weight is gonna be 675 pounds, that is the max weight pushing down on your hitch receiver, so that's not gonna be a problem if you wanna do some bike racks or cargo carriers. more

Hi, this is Scott with Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Etrailer anti-rattle collar for our 2025 Subaru Crosstrek. One of the things I think I'm gonna like about this anti-rattle collar is, this would drive me crazy, hitting bumps or going down the road and hear all this rattling around back there, that would drive me nuts. So we're gonna get this installed and see how well it gets rid of all that rattling around. To install our anti-rattle collar, we wanna keep it one or two ways. We wanna be able to put it on this way or you can also put it on this way. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go up and down with it today, and just get it to slip over, and it is gonna be adjustable so it's gonna be able to fit the flange of your receiver. more

It's pretty hid pretty well. It's a pretty heavy duty hitch. You're gonna be able to tow smaller trailers with this one, like utility trailers and stuff like that. Now this is one of my more favorite racks for the Subaru, just 'cause it kind of helps main the aesthetic look of a factory roof rack on the Subaru here. And plus, it works really well with a bunch of different accessories, such as like your kayak carrier and your fishing rod holders. Now with their foot here, you might notice something immediately is that there's this little lock carved in on this front plate and this little plastic core. That's just showing you that that's where the one-key system would go if you did purchase that separately. So you could lock your roof rack on top of your roof and not have to worry about anyone taking it off. more

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we've got a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Curt Class III Two-inch Hitch Receiver. Adding a hitch receiver to the back of your Crosstrek is gonna allow you to carry bike racks, cargo carriers, or maybe even pull a small trailer. The Crosstrek is a very versatile vehicle, but the space inside can sometimes be limited. So that's why getting bulkier items, like a cooler or some luggage, onto a cargo rack, or if you're wanting to take bikes to and from the trail, getting them outta your car if you can even fit 'em inside of your vehicle. A lot of times people don't think about, you know, they can put their bikes inside their car when they leave for the trail, but once they're done riding, you have to be very careful to not get your bike covered in mud so you don't have to stick it back inside your car. more

Now the Subaru Crosstrek is a very versatile vehicle. You can go a lot of places in 'em. The one issue with them is the back of the vehicle's not very large, so you're not gonna have a whole lot of room for storage especially if you're trying to get something like a bike to and from the trail head. It's gonna be very difficult and really messy if you're coming back from the trail to slide that bike in the back of your car. more

So right here we have the Curt wiring kit, this one is the Tekonsha, and this one here is the Hopkins kit. While they're all gonna get the job done, all utilize that factory connector plug to, you know, send those signals out to your trailer, there are a few small differences. And if you we're to ask me what one I personally would put on my own vehicle, I would either say the Tekonsha or the Curt, and really, for one big reason, and that's because the length of 4-way flat wiring that you get is nice and long. more

And that's because this one has that smaller opening to accept those. If you're someone that isn't sure what they're gonna be doing just yet, or you know, you're gonna be doing towing, using a lot of different accessories and things like that, the Class 3 style hitches have the larger two-inch by two-inch opening. more

Now, there's a few different reasons why you would want to install a four-pole on the back of your Subaru Crosstrek. Some of those are that you may want to tow a small trailer. Our particular case is that we're going to be adding some accessory lights to the back of the bike rack, because the bikes that the owner of this vehicle has, they block the taillights. So they want to be safe when they're driving. more
