PTC Air Intake Filter - Replacement Engine Air Filter - 351PA6145 Review

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this PTC custom-fit engine air filter. This air filter is designed to replace the current filter in your vehicle to help improve its performance. This is a custom-fit filter. So it is designed to work with the 2011 Saab 9-4X with either the turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 engine or the three-liter V6 engine.

It will also work with the 2010 through 2011 Cadillac SRX with either the turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 engine or the three-liter V6 engine. And it will also work with the 2012 through 2016 Cadillac SRX with the 3.6-liter V6 engine. So if you have any of those vehicles, you can trust this is gonna do a great job of replacing that original filter. If you're not familiar with what an engine air filter does, basically this is going to filter the air that's coming into your engine to help remove any dirt, debris, particles from getting to your engine where it could potentially cause damage. This is going to be something that you want to switch out.

This manufacturer recommends about every 12,000 to 15,000 miles, but, of course, that depends on the environment that you're in. If you're on a gravel road or in a really dusty environment, you'll probably want to switch it out more frequently. And that's because as the filter does its job and collects all of those particulates and whatnot, it builds up in there. So by switching out your filter, it's going to free that up. So you get more air flowing in, and, of course, air is full of oxygen, which is essential for combustion in the engine.

So switching this out is going to help increase your acceleration or improve your acceleration and your mileage by having that better flow of air going through. As you can see, this does have the silicone sealing gasket. It's going to make sure that the air can't get around the edges. It's all gonna be pushed through these embossed paper pleats that are going to do a great job of capturing, catching all that dirt and debris before it can get to your engine and cause any damage. For those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is gonna work for you, this is gonna be an exact replacement for the part numbers that you see on the screen there.

So if you're going through your owner's manual or if you see any of those numbers on your current engine air filter, you can trust this is gonna be exactly what you need. Very easy to get this switched out, one of the easiest things that you can do to help improve your vehicle's performance. You don't have to have a mechanic do it for you or anything like that typically. It's just a box underneath the hood. So once you find that, you can use your owner's manual to find it if it's not obvious, just lift it up, pull out the original, put this one in its place, close it up, and you're ready to go. So very, very simple to do on your own and will do a good job of helping to maintain your engine and to make sure that it is performing at its peak conditions. So that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
