PTC Air Filter - Factory Box Replacement Filter - 351PA3196 Review

Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're taking a quick look at the PTC Custom Fit Engine Air Filter. So this is going to help to keep out any kind of harmful particulate matter from getting into our engine, getting things clogged up. So by changing this out regularly, we'll make sure that we have proper air flow going into our engine, so that way, we get the proper acceleration and mileage from our vehicle that we expect. This is going to be a fit for several different vehicles, and most of those are going to be from the '80s for GM vehicles, so some of your Buick, Oldsmobile, and others. So this is going to fit into your air intake box. It has the silicone gasket at either end to make sure that we don't have any gaps or leaks so no air is going to sneak past that filter material.

It's all going to have to pass through that filter and get filtered through. So that material on the inside is going to be a pleated material, so it's going to capture all that dirt and debris. Then we'll also have this diamond plating metal mesh that's going to go on the outside, and that helps to give it some rigid structure so it's not going to be sliding around in our air intake box. It's going to stay in-shape as we're going down the road, so we shouldn't have to worry about it moving around on us.As far as how often you should really change this, it kind of depends on how often do you drive the vehicle, but typically, the manufacturer recommends that you change it out every 12,000 to 15,000 miles. Of course, it's a good idea to check your owner's manual, if you still have it, to make sure that they don't have any different recommendations. But generally, that's going to be a good rule of thumb to go by, is about every 12,000 to 15,000 miles. But that's pretty much all there is to it for our custom fit engine air filter.

If you want to check out our other filters, we do have a lot to offer, including cabin air filters and oil filters as well. So check them out if you're interested. Thanks for watching.
