Optronics Trailer Lights - Clearance and Side Marker - MCL0040RBB Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Optronics round LED clearance with side marker trailer light with the red lens and the reflex reflector. Now this round trailer light can function as either a clearance or side marker light, and it does have the built in reflex reflector on it to eliminate the need for a separate reflector on your trailer. This does use LEDs. They make great replacements for incandescent lights. They'll last 50 times longer, and they're more efficient because they'll provide brighter light with less power output, and there's no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments to break. Does use this nice durable polycarbonate snap on lens on a black ABS housing.

It does have a red lens over one white LED. This is compatible with the 12 volt DC systems. It is a surface mount design to the trailer. Now the hardware to install this is not included. It does have the attached gasket here that helps create a weather tight seal when you install it. You'll notice it's a two wire pigtail, which will hardwire into the trailer.

The red is for your power, white is for your ground. And this is a P2 rated light, which produces a 90 degree beam pattern.A few dimensions on this, the diameter on this light is right at two and a half inches. Thickness on it, just the light itself is a half an inch. If you add the gaskets, about three quarters of an inch. Power draw on this at 12 volts is 0.073 amps.

This does have a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. What I'm going to do now is hook this up to some 12 volt power to show you how bright it is. We'll go ahead and take our power wire, hook that up to the red, take our ground, hook that up to the white. Then with those attached, turn on our 12 volt power. There you go. You can see the light come on.

Go ahead and turn off the overhead light, and there you can see the LED. Keeps touching it. Okay, you can see it shining. I'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. Turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the Optronics round LED clearance or side marker trailer light with the red lens and the reflex reflector.
