Curt Lunette Ring - Integral Lock - CU79FR Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Curt SecureLatch flat plate mount lunette ring with a 60,000 pound weight capacity. Now this lunette ring is designed a couple with a pintle hitch. It is a nice cast iron construction. It is austempered for superior strength. You can see they finish it with a nice textured dark gray teridium finish to resist corrosion, provides a nice premium look.If you notice also it has a vertically offset base here that allows the ring be flipped for height adjustment. You can see in this position, it's in the rise position, if you flip it and install it this way, it'd be in the drop position, so you can put it in what position you need to get the correct height.

Does also offer this inaudible 00:00:39 lockable pin right here. This will drop and cover the lunette ring opening when it's uncoupled, secures with a padlock at the bottom here and that's to prevent tow away theft, and the pin will rotate 90 degrees out of the way when the lunette ring is hitched up for towing. The pin itself you can see has a nice corrosion resistant zinc finish on it, and it can be used in either position, like the rise position, it can be used or you can take it out, and if you flip it over in the drop position you can still put the ring in and use it and lock it.Now this is a bolt on installation. The mounting hardware to install this is not included. It will require four three quarter inch grade eight bolts, washers and nuts to install it.Again, the weight capacity on this is 60,000 pounds.

A few measurements on this. The ring inner diameter is going to be right at two and a half inches. The ring overall diameter is right at six inches. The mounting plate, see if we can get around this way, the width on it is going to be right at six and a quarter inches, height on it is right at six inches tall, and then the bolt hole spacing from center to center is right at four and a half inches. But again, you put it in the drop position, put the pin in, put it over there and lock it or if you flip it over into the rise position, do the same way, take your pin, drop it in, lock it so nobody can tow it away, or when you're using it just flip it to the side and lock it.But that should do it for the review on the Curt SecureLatch flat plate mount lunette ring with the 60,000 pound weight capacity..
